Maurer was cleared for team reps before JG. I'm surprised they played JG so much. He was in quite a bit of pain on the sideline and it was worse after he fell on his cast. He had hardly any grip in his left hand. He's one tough guy.
I have had the awful feeling that for whatever reason, CJP cant let go of the thought that JG gives him the best chance to win. I think he is dead wrong, but I aint the expert.

Deacon not backing down

Barnes fixing to take the whole crooked ass ncaa to task. Love it!! We finally once again have a bunch of Alpha males associated with the University of Tennessee and their give a damn about anything other than their programs and their student athletes is non-existent

I think they knew they could win with a one handed JG or Shrout and gave Maurer another week to heal. We will need him for the final stretch. Like someone mentioned earlier, this may have been JGs last homecoming game in Neyland and let him play more. If so, that is pretty awesome on Pruitts part.

Lol

Pruitt playing guys because it’s homecoming

Wow this board!!!

I think 18 does but I agree with you. I think Pruitt still believes in JG and none of us here are experts so I say we trust our coach as he is trying to raise us from the dead of September

I think it’s clear Pruitt was planning to play JG after one series anyway and rewarded shrout with the one the series.

He said as much today in his presser

So you think despite the fact Maurer won the starting job over JG when he was healthy...now a one handed JG is going to be the starter moving forward even though Maurer is back to full health?

I guess I don't see the logic. Why give the bulk of the first team reps to a guy you're not planning to start?

I think there was something off about 18 being removed from the Bama game. I still don’t know why a coach would have words with a player after a concussion but my guess is Pruitt doesn’t see 18 as a guy that can stay on the field. He thinks JG can and thus it isn’t worth game planning and shaping your practice around a guy that is 0/3 in finishing games.

As far as first team reps none of us nor the media really know anything about the bulk of reps at practice.

The report last week said 18 took the first reps with the team as they left the practice field. They didn’t see anything more than a few plays as they were escorted off the field

The subject is irrelevant but the negavol / BVS chicken-little crowd can't let go of it. That is all.

Edit: CJP's Vols got a 30-7, the 7 coming with the bench playing. What else are they gonna "sky is falling" about?

Assumption is Maurer starts if he's 100%, and I hope he has his coming out party. He's honestly showed he can move the ball, but he's not really had a good outing yet. I'd like to see him sling a few TDs and go over 250 at about 60% clip and run for 50 or so with another TD or 2 on the ground.

Just an absolute slaughter honestly... 35-0 or something one-sided.
I don't care if he starts but if he plays, he better learn to get down before he takes another shot to his head. You just know some of those guys will try to take him out---it's Kentucky.

To me, CJP has been anything but logical with handling this QB situation. If you feel your QB is so mentally fragile that you feel you have to play another guy in the position for the first series, then you probably shouldnt be playing the kid. JT throws into coverage on ONE throw that he has attempted and you pull him to put in the guy who continues to make poor reads and poor throws. None of it makes sense to me, but thats my opinion from the couch.

That is always a big draw and always will be. Nowhere in FL, and very few places in the country, can compete with the volume of concentrated hotties...and they outnumber the amount of males by a good bit.

It's extraordinary how easy it is for an average dude to get laid by smoking hot girls in that town. Throw in being an athlete and game over. UCF and UF are the only schools even close and they are still well behind.

Miami isn't nearly as good as you would expect....and most of the hot girls there are hanging out on South Beach trying to land a sugar daddy.
This is 100% truth. That town is a dump, but the talent is unreal.

Yeah this totally seems more likely. Doesn't make any sense that your starting QB for three straight games having back to back concussions would be handled with more caution or anything.

Lol coming from the most hated poster on this board. Can you read? I said “if.” I also said that someone mentioned it. But continue on with your trolling. You’re doing great today.

If he’s cleared he would have played if Pruitt thinks he was our best option. I mean we were only 12 pts favorited and everyone
Says this staff learned its lesson from taking Ga State for granted. Not buying it at all
That we saved him for better days

Now it won’t surprised me if he starts in Lexington but I bet JG plays 75% of snaps

To even think playing a player because it was homecoming is even possible is just plain dumb. Plain and simple
