It is a two way street. We all need each other to make it happen.
Well...we are the ones that always get screwed. Those guys get a education worth a damn fortune. Some of you guys like to downplay that, but I am a poor man, and it is a freaking massive amount to me. I am sick of hearing how they are soo pitiful, and it is not my fault a bunch of vultures make money off of it, once again it just screws us over.

Plus...we are Tennessee...I guarantee you this will kill our future.

When my 9yo was a baby he loved to sit and jump in that chair thing you can strap to a doorway. I'd "babysit" him and he'd jump in that thing for HOURS. He would jump so long and tire himself out that he'd end up falling asleep face down on the tray lol. That thing was the best babysitting device ever.
Johnny jumper?

Not sure why you are continuing to argue. But, I don't want to anymore.

I can see where there could be issues and where it could cause improper payments to be more common or easier to hide and abused by boosters.
That said I don't see a problem with what the UCF kid was doing with his you tube channel yet was forced to either not play or stop.
High profile players are already getting benefits like it or not. I know some buddies and myself went to Beale st and ran into a player few years back and he didn't pay for anything all night and pocketed at least 5 c notes just shooting the **** with normal fans.
The first paragraph is what we have told Devo over and over and over...and he still doesn't understand it.

Just look at viewership for the marquee college game of every week vs the marquee pro game. Across the country except for the south pro wins almost every time. Heck the super bowl gets 3 or 4 times more viewers than the CF championship. I guess you can cherry pick some states where the college team has been above average to dominant recently and the respective NFL team has been horrible forever to make your case, but overall pro football draws heavier than college outside the south.

Apples to oranges

Pro football is a more concentrated product. College football is a whole lot of teams playing a whole lot of games all over the place. There’s not a lot of National level College teams. So if you look at total attendance, unique butts in seats, according to the National Football Foundation, College Football numbers tower over the Numbers for the NFL, almost double the numbers even if down years. That makes sense given there are lots more college teams & thus lots more college games than pro games.

The overall TV viewership is pretty close between the two but again it’s a concentrated product vs a product that is more fragmented.. According to the National Football Foundation, College Football has over half of the population of the country tuning into “their” games totaling out at over 163 million unique viewers.

Number of NFL teams = 32 (games are mostly on Sundays)
Number of Colleges with football programs = 774 (games are mostly on Saturdays)
Number of High Schools with football programs = ~14,000 (games are mostly on Friday nights)

Since they started televising HS games I've ended up watching more of those games than I watch College games. I'm often traveling on Saturdays to and from our game so I don't have time to watch anyone else and as I've said before I've lost interest in the Pro games. Here in Chattanooga we get some regional HS football games and we also get some of the HS games broadcast out of Georgia. The HS game I've enjoyed most this year was Baylor vs McCallie. Jay Hardy was out that game due to injury but Elijah Howard put on one hell of a show.

They get a very expensive education, and expensive training that allows the ones who are good enough to move to the next level. Why is that not enough?..because they don't want an expensive education? I think the solution is to force the NFL to start their own minor league. Then the idiots that don't value that expensive education can go work for peanuts and the 90% of them will be broke before they are 30, and the ones that do value it can shut up about money, and be happy being amateurs and enjoying college..

See...that was easy.

Clay tries his hardest to make himself, a very wealthy man from a wealthy family, the victim in every situation.
Or maybe he just points out when other people say incredibly dumb sh!t? Is he wrong to say that if the races were reversed it would be a national story? I don’t think so.

Honest question don’t know... can a high school kid go straight to these other football leagues... Europe, Canada, Arena (that still exist?), XFL?

It’s a weird dynamic, because these kids are nowhere near physically developed to compete with professionals. Nature of the sport. High school players need the college environment.

I’m worried with a minor league system if there’s guys who don’t pan out in the eyes of GMs will come back to college for one last exposure. Bunch of 26 year old men running around cracking heads lol. Maybe limit the eligibility to 2 years for someone who goes pro.

Just spitballin’

Don’t jump off Henley Street Bridge just yet. The NCAA is going to heavily regulate ALL of it. It’s the only way for them to stay relevant. They’ll control every dollar because it will allow them to wet their beak on every dollar. They’ll offer these kids peanuts because they’re so greedy.
