Windy's football discussion thread.

I used to party in the boro back in the day. Between there and WH, Im sure you and I know some of the same peeps.
There is no doubt. One day we will have to meet...even away from Waffle House if preferred...and gossip.

I've been following the 2 "paying the players" threads but dont feel like getting involved. Some of the comments are just fawking stupid. I think its a mistake, but oh well. I don't have a problem paying the players, but I'd like to see everyone on the team get paid and get the same amount.

Is what it is.

I think it could open the door for jealousy, and locker room issues. Jmo though

Hope that didn't come across the wrong way. There's several arguments about them being adults and not kids. Im not saying they're children and should be treated like children.

They already have a lot on their plates as football players and college students. This will add alot more mental responsibility on them and create more stress, on all of them.

Obviously they need to grow up, I just think this might be pushing them to do do a little to fast.

IF there is not an income sharing clause, whats to keep those O lineman from taking a play off and letting Mr. Amazeballs fend for himself?

Guarantee when this comes to fruition, and it shall, each prospective player will have to have an Agent/Manager (Lawyer) prior to signing with any school.

The schools will not allow players to solicit themselves in school colors and numbers without paying the school for the right to do so.

What's to stop boosters from laundering "in yo face" money into recruits/players bank accounts?

This is a HUGE BOON for the legal profession.

This is the dawning of the professional student athlete.

A trust fund would eliminate that stress to some degree. Maybe draw on it limited amounts of time per year and for limited amounts
It would to some degree, for the guy making the money. What about the ones not? What about the guy that is making the money but feels bad about the guys not making any?

The kid or kids not making any decide they want to transfer.

Lady vols mad cause they not getting the same or more than the men's. Or vice versa.
