Taking all three of my girls (4, including Mrs. ob79) to the game this weekend, courtesy of @Atlanta VOL. First game for my middle and youngest. Just FYI, for those who doubt him...don't.

Prepare for cuteness overload because I'm taking a lot of pictures and posting them here.

Awesome! Congrats my friend! 5,3, and 2 mos here. Can't wait for my little Vols to see greatness! (by the time they go we'll be in BCS again), yes, BCS.

Liked this post. Then unliked it just so I could like it again!

Enjoy it and thank you @Atlanta VOL for being a great ambassador for our program! I'm quite a few miles from Knoxville currently, but one of these days I hope to shake your hand and buy many of you a beer while celebrating a Vols win in person!

Why am I not surprised...

Our passing game was outstanding and our OL played incredibly on Sat. against a salty SC defense and what do we see in this thread? Pittman is suddenly overrated and of course, rather than crediting JJ and our QB's for the passing game, its just that SC's passing defense isn't that good. Far be it from the usual suspects to give our coaching staff and players any credit.
Sam Pittman is properly rated and has been for a few years. He’s a great recruiter who needed the time to develop that reputation. As a coach, he coaches up his boys as well as any, but there’s only so much an OL coach can do tactically. You need an OC who can synergize the playmakers and scheme with the big guys. DeBord made our OL look almost legit at times and Chaney’s advanced our talent increase under Friend.

Awesome! I'm not sure my kiddo is there yet...I will probably try to take him to an early one next year though.

Boom!! I love it!! My coach! We are about to run every team we face over the next 5 games off the field. I can feel it. VOLS win by double digits from here on out! Let’s go!!

Chaney deserves every single bit of credit for our offensive line this year. He is the OC / basically OL coach now. That doesn’t change the fact the Pittman is overrated. Is he a bad coach? No. But he’s not the urban legend megladon coach like some make him out to be.

not rocket surgery.

Was just thinking that, from a "momentum" standpoint, he played lights out to finish off USC. Came in and went 7/11 for 122 with a TD (which was one of the best passes of the season, right up there with Maurer's 73 yard pass against Georgia).

Give him the start and see how he handles it.
I think Shrout started the game out 1 for 5...but then came back in after JG injury and went 6 for 6.

Honestly I’d be ok with Maurer and JT playing.🤷🏽‍♂️ Just me though.starting Maurer obviously.
I’d say start Shrout if you’re toeing the cautious line with Maurer. Work him in depending on how the game is going...hopefully to knock off the cobwebs and not to improve our results.

Not sure if you caught the Pruitt show.. was his usual self, a little downplaying of the accomplishments and pointing out where we messed up.

But when the OL was discussed, he was obviously impressed and happy with the progress.

And ftr, made it known that coach Friend had been doing his part and a great job. Probably caught wind of the internet rumor stuff. But he was most complimentary of Friend and Sherrer on the staff.

Good news on the injury front from Saturday.
So we have UAB, Kentucky, Bye Week, Missouri and then Vandy. That Bye week is a nice spot for us.
Yeah just need to dominate this Saturday and get some guys that are banged up some rest. Then need to jump on Kentucky fast and get the crowd out of it, as well as make them be uncomfy playing from behind and not be able to throw the ball well.

Ashlee is the youngest (4) and is very noise sensitive but I'll be bringing ear protection. She LOVES going to high school games, so I'm hoping that she'll feel the same, if not MUCH MUCH MORE, about Neyland.

That is key against UK, and I think probably Mizzou as well. Both Bowden and Bryant are much more comfortable as running QBs so we need to get them playing catchup.

To surmise: Everyone overrated what an OL coach does. Posted that before the season...and in every thread suggesting throwing the bank at a position coach pulling in $1.5 mil a year. 😏
