Unconditional love

Why do you assume to know that people “missed out”? I dropped my family’s season tix, but I assure you we didn’t “miss out”. You beat your chest about how your love is unconditional and you were there Saturday and always wear orange but pretty much just come across sounding really arrogant and “true fanish”. I assure you me and my family and thousands of other vol fans at home missed out on nothing watching from home cheering and high fiving. No one watching Vols football after the last like 20 years has conditional love, that is just asinine to believe. Jump off the high horse, the true fan “ me and my diddy lubbed dem Vols” posts are so freaking corny.

So you’re a fan too
But
You’re not happy about it or proud of it?

pretty much.
You clearly think she’s talking to you because you took it personally and lashed out.

No, it’s ok to call out people when they say stupid things. Everything doesn’t have to be personal. By that logic I guess you clearly think I was talking to you and took my post personal, and you must feel arrogant and be of the “I’m a true fan” variety because you responded to my post.

I just found it interesting that you thought the OP was a challenge to your manhood/fandom. when all she was really saying is that the people boycotting games and not buying orange stuff missed a party.

But if it makes you feel better about your righteous indignation to defend the legions of the miserable.....by all means carry on.

I find it interesting how offended and butt hurt you are over my post, as if I somehow personally insulted you you. Must have struck a nerve I guess. But hey, continue on as volnations white knight, defending the honor of true fans everywhere.

No I comprehended your post just fine. Problem was that it was just a hilariously illogical argument, quite elementary actually. And then I applied your logic to your own posts, and you responded exactly as I knew you would. When you turn to the old reading comprehension line before you tuck tail and retreat, you’ve lost. You hate to see it.

No, I don’t rate fanhood. Although many do.

Yeah I think anyone who is still a Vols football fan after all these rough years is a true fan who loves Tennessee unconditionally. That’s basically what I was trying to say. You don’t have to be 100% in on Pruitt and attend every game to love Tennessee.

Sure, I can see that. I haven’t attended a game in years, due to living in Cali and then the last few years, tough to justify.

I just get tired of the “boycott Neyland” and “send a message with your wallet” stuff. I understand the reasoning, but I’m pretty sure that the players take it pretty personally. And I care a lot more about the players than I do the bean-counters in the AD. And I’m not a bit bothered by being called naive.

I'm still not 100% on Pruitt and I rarely make it to games. Anyone that wants to question my love for the Vols can meet me at the Wafflehouse.(Just not by the dumpsters)

A quote from a text with my son this morning who is a jr at ut this fall. He hasnt missed a home game yet.

"Yeah it was probably the best game atmosphere start to finish I've seen since I've been here"

We are fans thru thick and thin. How you deal with the frustration of down times is a measure of character not fandom
