I just want to throw this out there.... why not start Jauan at QB and run RPO's and see how that works, we'll most likely be run heavy anyways if Maurer isn't playing so why not just try to pull what Kentucky pulled on us back in the Dooley days, they won't expect it and won't have prepared for it, and if nothing else it might just spark us to a couple scoring drives early on and then we can switch over to Shrout and settle into the gameI dont think Price would come out with saying expect JT to get the start if staff hasn't relayed to him that he was starting. Could you imagine the vitriol from fans if they start JG after that from Price?
yeah, that was going to go one of two ways in regards to JG...1. he's done, confidence is shot, he's completely unsure of himself at this point, and the lockeroom isn't feeling it anymore with him. or 2. he owns it. holds himself accountable. and wants this opportunity to redeem himself and earn back the trust/faith (whatever) from team, coaches, fans etc.....I think things changed a few days ago. Everything indicated that Pruitt was going to roll with JG if Maurer didn't clear, but JG was so inconsistent in practice. Mentally, he's all over the place and that makes him unreliable. His confidence is shot. Everybody expects this to be a tight game, so I think the coaches started considering a different plan. Chaney's been working a lot more with Shrout, so you could see the shift in thinking mid-week.

Because RPO’s require PASSING...if only for a change of pace. Jennings hasn’t even taken reps in practice towards that end. They won’t expect it and we’re not prepared for it.I just want to throw this out there.... why not start Jauan at QB and run RPO's and see how that works, we'll most likely be run heavy anyways if Maurer isn't playing so why not just try to pull what Kentucky pulled on us back in the Dooley days, they won't expect it and won't have prepared for it, and if nothing else it might just spark us to a couple scoring drives early on and then we can switch over to Shrout and settle into the game
That's fair but when I said RPO's I meant more of a pure option scheme where quarterback either hands off or pulls and runs and then when we've lulled them to sleep on the ground dial one up down the field, I mean JJ hasn't been a QB since HS but I'm sure he's accurate enough to hit a wide open man running free, but ultimately I just thought it would be cool and a decent game plan but obviously I know from the reality and preparation standpoint that this was not a possibility, however we have gotten JJ in the Wildcat and he can manage the cadence and snap count so we could run some option plays throughout the game to keep SC off balanceBecause RPO’s require PASSING...if only for a change of pace. I think there was a trick play in the Ms State game where he was going to pass, (similar to what Saints did with Kamara) but it didn't set up right so he ran.Because RPO’s require PASSING...if only for a change of pace. JG hasn't necessarily been a person who "owns it". That's part of his issues is his lack of accountability and refusal to accept criticism. That's my unprofessional opinionyeah, that was going to go one of two ways in regards to JG...1. he's done, confidence is shot, he's completely unsure of himself at this point, and the lockeroom isn't feeling it anymore with him. or 2. he owns it. holds himself accountable. and wants this opportunity to redeem himself and earn back the trust/faith (whatever) from team, coaches, fans etc.....
now, based on past history, we could have discussed which one of those was most likely and all, but those were the only two options. and hearing how he did in practice on tuesday in routes on air didn't lend itself to opt. 2 being the case.....
P doesn’t stand for PULL. Still requires at least a passing threat. When Kentucky did it against us, they really didn’t have any other option...their scholarship QB’s were no go. That was always Wilcox’s flub imo. But still allowed only 10 and our offense never showed up. When Kentucky did it against Arkansas...it was Arkansas. We can’t hope the defense that more than stood up against UGA and Florida will give us more free reign. That's fair but when I said RPO's I meant more of a pure option scheme where quarterback either hands off or pulls and runs and then when we've lulled them to sleep on the ground dial one up down the field, I mean JJ hasn't been a QB since HS but I'm sure he's accurate enough to hit a wide open man running free, but ultimately I just thought it would be cool and a decent game plan but obviously I know from the reality and preparation standpoint that this was not a possibility, however we have gotten JJ in the Wildcat and he can manage the cadence and snap count so we could run some option plays throughout the game to keep SC off balance
I agree, but people take some like Price as his information is from the staff. Something like this situation where it seems at the least the great majority is wanting something, they think they are getting it and out trots Broadway, people will riot. Much worse than if it were up in the air come gametime. My point is that you can probably bet the house that JT starts.I'm not one that sits and complains about the pay sites.
But it legit scares me to think of our fan's emotions being tied to their accuracy.![]()
When he utterly declares something? It tends to have something behind it...he’s not Basilio.I agree, but people take some like Price as his information is from the staff.
