Can we get a discussion going on the difference in the helmets Maurer had wore previously to the one they have him wearing now I’m curious as to why a helmet change.

I've not even seen the difference of what he's wearing. Heard about it but not seen it.

watching this SWC game on ESPN. how is it that other conferences games are officiated normally? they dont examine every play, and the calls they do make are normal.

basically officials arent determining the outcome. that should never happen

I think UAB might be as tough as Mizz and USCjr to be honest. I don't think any of us, team and staff included, need to be in the mindset of that being a guaranteed victory.

It's really disappointing for sure.

If he's of just stayed the same... Forget getting better... Just be the same....

Everyone is frustrated. I'm sure he is too.

He never was very good. He just kept getting blasted so quickly that we couldn't tell how bad he really was. Our receivers, specifically Callaway, made him look good on jump balls that won us games like Auburn and the entire team dominated a one-dimensional UK team.

Our OL improvement has given him more time to expose how garbage he is. He barely threw picks last year because he was constantly on his ass or threw a checkdown. More time in the pocket gives him no excuse not to throw and negates his one good trait...the ability to take a beating.

The Miss St game was one of the few times I've seen him read a defense and that was only on 2 passes.

They're trying out a Schutt helmet with new technology for impact absorption. It's supposed to provide better padding for extra protection against concussions. It's what a lot of NFL players are transitioning into.

So we should be concerned for every game the opponent has a <5% chance? Not worth it.

USC, UK, Mizzou...those are worhy of concern. UAB sucks.

Ahhhhhh...makes sense now..I just had no clue what the difference was other than the brands. In your opinion do you think it’s more of his neck being an issue or he actually suffered a concussion

They have wildcat packages for JJ and Chandler, but I think those are more situational than an ongoing solution. We need Shrout to step up and be the guy.
