Don't forget about Kara Lawson...her and Parker both are excellent at representing UT in a positive light.

I also like Charles Davis too. We don't have too many former players in media oddly enough, I thought for sure Peyton would end up as a color analyst but he's got his own ESPN + show, not seen it cause I'm not paying for yet another streaming service that offers nothing but a handful of content.

Yeah agreed about that for Rice...not sure if I do for Josh, but maybe I just never listened to him much. Since he's been paired with who he has.

John Wilkerson is pretty much the only voice I can stomach.
yeah, and to be fair, josh has been paired with two people i simply can't listen to....so maybe that's rubbed off on me the wrong way. i'll concede that much.

lol, forgot about finebaum.....

but you're right, and i don't necessarily blame them for trying to be impartial given what they're doing nationally.

having said that i've seen Parker visibly root for TN in the tourney, and she's not been shy about aligning herslef with Rocky Top at all. DAvis, he's not overt with it, but when has the opportunity, he'll let you know where he's from.......

i've seen Gene do it as well. well timed as you would expect, but he's not in an analyst role where he's given some rope to expound and given anecdotes from past experiences...when asked, he will. past that, he's on the straight and narrow.

same with mcgee and shipman...i've seen them both reference their UT background, in the right context.

finebaum...well, he only does it when it suits HIM....which is fine. that's his schtick.....

i wish they'd all show up to work one day wearing orange checkerboard overalls on, with UT bucket hats on, with Rocky Top blaring in the background while on a boat participating in the Vol Navy.
but that's just me.
Finebaum is like a penis. Only smaller. And limp. And sleeping with himself every night.

Candace wears her heart on her sleeve, but she can be critical in a fair way. And she doesn't downplay the other team or take cheap shots, like others do. (Jordan Rodgers, that would be you.) She's relatable and people like her for it. Davis and Maddi are both good announcers-- they represent well; they're just subtle about it. Every year, Finebaum seems to get more venomous toward UT. I wish Bama would give him an honorary degree and make it official.
honestly, i think finebaum figured out long ago there's more money to be made as the heel than the hero. i think if you got him in a dark room away from all the cameras and radio stuff you'd probably find out he has a pretty deep affection for UT.

Haven't heard Josh on his own but when he was with Will, he would make some decent fb comments. And then get drowned out by Will somehow incorporating a pop culture icon into fb, then quickly moving on to vaping and weightloss.

Folks debating between Will and Heather. I have no idea if dog or cat poop is worse, I'd rather do without both.

Starting that first game is a ton of mental pressure...especially at Neyland.

Most definitely, i wholeheartedly agree with you on that. But the way the huddle reacted to shrout when he came into the game Saturday makes me think the team will say let’s ride with shrout. I’m not saying Pruitt will listen to them, but I think our guys have faith in shrout. The way offense interacted with shrout during his first huddle shows that to me. I think his brothers will help him enough to get over the jitters if he starts.

Apparently the brother in law or brother of the side judge in our game is spouting off on social media. There is a tweet in the FF where he responds to the criticism. It is pretty clear of his dislike for UT.
Real smart, that guy. I hope this doesnt happen but wont be shocked if it does, but his real name is out there and there are a ton of crazy people. He keeps up the antagonizing, someone is gonna want to physically deal with it. Not advocating that at all and hope someone isnt dumb enough to do that.

No problem with that. Maybe the decision makers are gauging that from practice also.

i would expect the team to react that way no matter who goes out there.

they all want to win. and whoever they put out there, that's the guy. so it's still in everyone's best interest to help/support whoever it is and play their butts off for him.

12 or 2, wont' matter...things will be limited either way. different things mind you, but things will be limited no matter who goes in.

Can't believe we left out Kara! Yes, she's excellent.

Not a smart idea to even engage. He said alot in there that isnt beneficial to his BIL. I assume the guy is banned from Bama games and now UT games.

Afrer this decade, I'd put up with 8-9 every year for 5 or 6 years before I started to get antsy. It's a LOT easier to bring in an elite coach when you're just a couple steps away from the playoffs instead of a whole staircase.
I’ve learned to settle. You have to luck yourself into a top 5 coach now in college football. Money won’t move a top guy anymore. Either that or a coach steps into a top program like Day or Lincoln Riley.

Give me a 8+ win season with a trip to Atlanta every 3-4 years and that’s about the most you can hope for. If we do better than that, we have gotten lucky. Butch could have been that guy but he let the bottom fall out. We don’t know what we’ve got in Pruitt yet. I suspect we have at the least our 8+ win guy

Yep. He needs an interesting take as opposed to the right one all the time.

He ain't dumb

You would hope so, but given the context and situation when shrout came. It would of been easy for the guys not to give a f*** after that JG debacle. And I’m with you on expecting them to support who ever is put in at QB. But trey smith and others didn’t just give shrout a pat in the back and say let’s go, multiple guys made it a point to go to JT and tell him “your good bro, we got your back, just go ball out and don’t worry about chit” that kinda stuff galvanizes a team from the inside, and it shows the guys what Pruitt has been preaching all along- FAMILY. Side note- I gotta see shrout in extended time before I’m ready to say the offense will be limited with him.

There may be some stuff out there, but I think Judd mainly shares via phone call on Basilio. Sometimes the details are on Tony’s blog.

He should publish it online though. Some of the detail is amazing. He had one ref as having a tendency to always call at least one “travel” at a certain point every TN game that he officiated. I wish I could remember the exact stat.

Any way this guy would be willing to do that same for football for a game or two? Or is he basketball only?

Charles and his wife Lisa are good people. He does a lot in the community and He’s well thought of at Fox too.
