As a football player..He is pathetic. That is the truth whether you like it or not.
That is your opinion, though I do agree with it for the most part. You can differentiate between him as a football player and a person. If I was bad at my job, and someone called me a pathetic arse, I would believe you were not just talking about my job.

Anyway, sorry to belabor this. I like you as a poster and we do see eye to eye on a lot of things. Go Vols.

Before what we saw with Mizzu at Vandy id Agree but all of a sudden that game after a buy week looks very winnable. That and they will be worn down as well
I agree with your take about Missouri. It will still be very difficult to win the last four, even if BM returns, though I do feel better about it. I think that the USC game is critical to our bowl chances. If we lose, I doubt very seriously we win more than 5.

Eh...your opinion man. YOU think he is pathetic as a football player and everyone is entitled to disagree with you, it's not a truth to anyone but you (and those who share the same opinion).

Wouldn't say pathetic personally...too strong of a word, he's had a few pathetic moments though.

I get that you want to bash on the folks in here you consider to be "negavols"

But Michigan made a great hire, Jim isn't leaving them in the middle of the night for a different school and no other school can really compete with what he's making. He's doing exactly what most realist expected him to do at Michigan. He jumped from Stanford for the NFL job pretty quick, only had 1 season there with more than 10 wins before going to the 49ers and that's in the Pac-12 arguably the worst Power 5 conference.

He's averaging 9.5 wins a year right now (based on the 4 seasons he's completed). His worse loss so far was his first game against Utah, who isn't even a bad team.

Has he earned his keep? Not really, he's 3rd behind only Dabo/Saban but hasn't even made the playoffs yet or won a conference title. But there's not another coach in the country that wants that job more or wants to win more at Michigan than Jim Harbaugh.

Firing him would be absolutely stupid, period. If a NFL team comes calling and he bails, so be it but as long as he keeps winning 8-10 games a year and is only losing to tough conference rivals then why fire him?
I hope Notre Dame beats the crap out of them this weekend. And i don't even like ND.

Beat USCe and we have a better than 50/50 shot at a bowl

Lose and bowl chances are 25% at best imo

Oh yeah, I agree. Not a Jim or Michigan fan at all, not since they stole Peyton's Heisman. I love watching them get beat, even by OSU who I also dislike.

Unrelated, BasketVOLs have 2 of the top 5 all-time highest rated recruits in school history in this 2020 class, and we're 4th nationally. That pay raise to Barnes may be worth it after all...he keeps this 2020 class as is and these guys get on campus I expect James stays for at least another year just to play with these other highly rated recruits.

Like I said, they should be frustrated, especially this year. But their administration has to be smart enough to know there are very few head coaches better than Jim Harbaugh and the likelihood of one of those guys taking the Michigan job is very small.

Harbaugh has problems he needs to correct. But he’s proven he’s an elite head coach (good Kaepernick to the Super Bowl for gods sake) and at minimum his floor is an 8 win “downturn” season. If the goal is a national championship, he’s much closer to that than Luke Fickell or Bronco Mendenhall or whoever else they would hire to replace him.
I dont think they can hire any better myself.

They stuck.

"It must be Thursday hanging with". Sorry, I guess?🤷‍♂️

Yeah, some always find the downside to TN and defend other programs. I'm not gonna omit that, if that's what you mean? Nick pointed out that Michigan hasn't gotten what they expected for that kind of money (which is fact) and the 1st response was to make it a shot at TN. But yes, it is always the same posters and no, I doubt that's coincidence.

Surely you at least post things equally offensive as "hanging with" but don't consider it bashing.. and bashing is not my intent. Doesn't feel like a fair description tbh.

To me Gurantano is a G5 talent who was overhyped and overrated coming out of high school. Who is now struggling to perform in arguably the best power 5 conference in the country.
Yep - he never should have been recruited here. NJ competition was bad which inflated him and an early Ohio State offer got him into a ton of camps.

If he signs with Ohio State instead of us he likely transfers after the first year when they tell him he isn’t good enough.

In the Dominican kids only have baseball dreams to make it out. That passion comes from their want to not live in poverty. I went on medical mission trip a few years ago. Went to a community they kept calling the dump. When our bus got to the village it literally was located in a massive landfill. Residents lived in make shift huts made of scrap metal. They drank from well water that was below the landfill so runoff drained into drinking supply. All those kids wanted to try out there arms on me. Nothing like playing catch with an 8 year old that would break your hand with a ball. All their heroes are Dominican players. They follow very closely.
Great story, thanks for sharing.

Let’s talk Michigan aside from our own level of despair right now...

How much does it stink to be a Michigan fan right now? You spent a fortune to hire who appeared to be a top NFL/College coach who is alumni, and 5 years in, there is no valid hope that they will ever break into the top tier of college football. They are mired in the later Georgia Richt years of good seasons but never threatening to win more. At least UGA had Smart on deck but if you are Michigan, who are you going to get that doesn’t look like a clear step backwards on paper? How much money?

They went all in, got their proven guy, and they are stuck as a perineal 3-4 best team in their conference with not even a sniff of a conference championship to be found.

Winning sure beats losing, but I would almost prefer the unknown hope we’ve been living on over the “this is it” which is good enough to not risk changing.

I’d take his first five years at Michigan right now.

The Michigan/Harbaugh situation is very similar to when "Johnny came marching home" at TN back in 1977. Harbaugh has done better at Michigan than Majors did at TN in his first 5 years. Majors eventually righted the ship at TN. Just don't know if Harbaugh will be able to last as long at Michigan with today's 24/7 media coverage.

We better damn get some calls this weekend.

We got screwed vs Bama.

If this ish continues to happen on Saturday, some of y'all better run out on the field and give them refs some waffle house.

Fascinating stuff. SEC football refs are by far the worst in the country. And that's excluding the Bama bias we discuss on here, I just mean in general, even in the Vandy vs UK type games, they are wildly inconsistent and make so many mistakes.

Judd usually calls in post game or the next day after every b-ball game and breaks down the refs, their calls that night, and their overall tendencies. It’s awesome.

The equivalent is that they emptied the bank and hired their Saban. But their Saban can't win the division.
Idc what anyone says, that has to hurt.
wait until Jimbo doesn't winbo......that's another fan base that'll start figuring out what "value" means....lol.
