No one knows, including our own coaches how shrout will look when he’s given the prep time as the starter. Maurer didn’t look very good when he was just coming in for spot situations. Shrout could come in and pull a Nathan peterman and be a disaster. Or he could come in and play well as Maurer did against Georgia.

I would rather go with the unknown then a know liability.

I respect that thinking even though I disagree.

But to be fair I didn’t think 18 was going to do better either. Perhaps I am wrong twice wanting 2 to play over 12 now

I don't claim to know the physics, polymer science, and physiology necessary to make this call; I restrict myself to observing that, given a better or even equal helmet, this would be an extremely astute psychological maneuver. He will likely play safer if he feels safer.

Yes, inevitable. All of this, for the record, beginning with the loud sound systems, began in an effort to make NFL games sound as loud and as exciting as SEC games without the electronic amplification.

Also, may as well note that, since we have the loudest crowd base in the country, these artificial crowd amplifications narrow our advantage. But that's aight. Can live with it.

He is the perfect stat padder while doing absolutely nothing. Most QBs that complete 27 passes have over 350 yards.

2 TDs, zero picks and zero fumbles is the very best JG can do regardless of yards or passing attempts. That’s plenty good enough to manage his team to a win against a similar talented team like USCe.

And that’s his choice. But don’t get upset when you go 3-9 or 4-8 and the fans start to turn on you again. I love the comments that coaches don’t care how the fans feel. They absolutely do. They know their job rides a lot on the fans. If the fans turn on you, you will not have a job much longer. Why do you think players have been begging fans to show up and talking about things getting better? Because they need the fans and so do the coaches.
