Come on paininmyass...get on board with Rouge Two..Can you believe all Rogue Fumble has to do is hand the damn the ball to Q and we are in a one score with 7 minutes to play, and we (with that score) have outscored them in the second half; they are feeling the fear and we've got the mo'.
I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen or heard of a worse play by a TN Vol. Ever. He thought he could be the hero.
I guess I'm different, but it upsets me MUCH more than the first game. Idiot.
Lol
So a guy that never takes chances with the ball is now all of a sudden a selfish hero seeking loser according to VN?
You know if he was selfishly after being a hero he’d sure as hell try to put the ball into more tight windows down the field.

I don't know if I'd say Maurer has developed faster than JT.
I think RPO is honestly the main reason Maurer went from true freshman to backup to starter. It's a dynamic you give your QB that completely changes how often defenses blitz. It's why despite rarely throwing the ball Kentucky's offense beat Arkansas and was able to hang in there with Georgia for the first half.
Having a QB that can successfully run RPOs is just an extra threat to help an offense move the ball. It's honestly one of the reasons JG was so bad in Butch's offense and is still not "getting it" when it comes to audibles and play selection. I really feel like it's a gut feeling more than film study and the truly elite QBs have it. Peyton did a ton of work in the film room, but on game day he knew just from how the game was going when was the right time to dial up the appropriate play. Don't believe that, rewatch the first super bowl win against the Bears, he didn't have a great personal performance but the way he called that game offensively was masterful.
From Galilee on Volquest (he knows Memphis kids) about the Whitehaven Trio:Let me commence by saying that I am blessed to be involved with most athletes in Memphis through my job. I know the good and the bad of most Memphis athletes. The Whitehaven trio are 3 of the finest young men that I have ever been involved with. I know all 3 but very close to one of them. TM mother and father are two of my former students. His grandmother , great grandmother, and his late great great grandmother all like my family. His uncle is one of my best friends. I feel that qualifies me to know the type of kid he is.The trip:I was told this was the worst trip they have experienced. Everything was going good until word leaked that he was decommitting. One of the players gave them an old pair of cleats. Coach Morris daughter approached them and asked why did they steal the shoes. One other host stated she saw the player give the recruit the shoes but they ignored her. Kenny Ingram an asst. coach there I s the former head coach at Whitehaven and he as even embarrassed. I know these boys did not steal anything at all.During the game the boys got so bored seeing the home team getting slaughtered, they were hoping to leave. Later on Saturday night at the coach house for dinner, they felt very segregated because the only players siting outside with them were AA. All the white coaches and players stayed inside. When the white players left the trio and their families were still outside. They were enjoying each other but the recruiting staff came and told them it was time to go.. Also when they arrived they were given a hat and a sweatshirt. After the decommiment they were asked to give them back.Good news: They are still complimenting the UT staff for the best visit ever. They are now hearing the lie about stealing and are outraged and seeking what they can do about these lies.PS May have some words spelled wrong. I am mad as hell typing this.

Amazing what you have turned into. Yes, changing the play to a QB sneak over the top so you can be the hero is selfish.
Just Hank's "version" of history. The VQ guys plainly said that Jones got class rankings that high by "FILLING OUT those classes with paper 4 stars"Yeah QB, OL, DL big whiffs. And that’s where you win.

Most everyone agreed that we took a lot of unwarranted 4 stars or one's that wouldn't make it in the SEC.
Now, he rewrites history as it was claimed that Jones never got any talent and names the 1/3 that was good to "prove" Jones didn't take paper 4 stars. And even included kids like Jordan that weren't even 4 stars, - which was the entire point.
She plays softball and her sister Madison played at UT too. Lady Vol royalty.
How hard is it to imagine that JG saw a chance to play hero by keeping the ball and scoring the TD that would put us within one score of Bama? Not a big leap IMO. In fact, the way you arrogantly dismiss the idea makes you look rather ignorant IMO. Without even attacking JG, I could easily understand the motivation for such action. He came into the season as a starter with high hopes and has severely underperformed. He's been the target of every fan's frustration, and is most surely frustrated with himself. So he sees a chance to play hero and maybe turn it all around, but fails. Not a big leap in logic there. At what point does all that criticism for "not taking chances" make him say "**** it" and take a chance? I mean, he's just been watching as a true freshman takes his job. You don't think he's frustrated with himself, looking to turn it all around? That seems rather ignorant to me.Lol

Good post.I have calmed down after the weekend. I still hope BM starts and plays on Saturday but if it’s JG I hope he plays extremely well and we have a victory. Even running the quarterback sneak and not handing the ball off he was still trying to score he just made a stupid play. Hopefully they take the reigns away from him and he runs what is called. I just want to get to 6 wins no matter who the qb is and that starts this weekend
Good a place as any to deposit this opinion I’ve been saving for a rainy day. In this world of this means that and that means this, reality isn’t always the byproduct of majority narratives posted. Take the BEST QB’s this season and rewind two seasons for perspective. Tua was benchridden as was Burrow with established starters in front of them. Tua is now sold as an inevitable that was going to happen, but the story from his own camp is that he was one half of a championship game from transferring...maybe truth somewhere in the middle. Burrow was similarly shining pine in his third year (one redshirt) eagerly awaiting the court ruling that would cap JT Barrett’s eligibility at a decade. That settled, he was envisioning at best a winner take all competition with Dwayne Haskins but had to anticipate all world dual threat Tate Martell as a viable threat (gotta wait for that TRUTH thing). When the dust settled, Haskins won the job and Burrow bet on himself and grad transferred to of all QB development havens...LSU. Back in Tuscaloosa, Tua seized that opportunity and could do no wrong after delivering that championship and we have a new player...Jalen Hurts. Considered a product of surrounding Bama talent, he played the good soldier and let his HC milk another season of eligibility off his docket. Actually saved the season in the SEC Championship Game and could have rested his lone remaining time as a legend. Bet on HIMSELF and grad transferred to an Oklahoma program that didn’t lend itself to his heretofore conservative passing talent. Burrow in the meantime had a SOLID season and Baton Rouge was grateful because SOLID was better than they had experience at the QB position in recent memory! Maybe hope for a little better improvement with a year of starting under his belt? BOOM! Two players sold as good talents but not great having phenomenal seasons and setting records! Sometimes the only difference in greatness is OPPORTUNITY to be so. This long winded PSA was actually shortened because there are other examples of such in college football. “I see this so that means this” has been wrecked in reality court so many times that I’d have to create it’s own forum to flesh out a small portion...and nobody’s got time. If Maurer can’t play, I hope Shrout gets at least a fraction of our freshman phenom’s leash against the Gators before drawing up his walking papers. This is exactly why I kept mentioning development early on. Coming out of the O&W game everyone was talking about how they weren't ready but Shrout was probably the better of the 2.
Now, development is getting no credit and Maurer was ready all along. Love Shrout's arm and hope they get whatever has him in 3rd, fixed. Once it does, hope development gets credit but there's reason to suspect that it won't.
