What Is Tulsi Gabbard Suggesting About The United States?

It is bizarre seeing the love for Tulsi on this board. I think it is because she pulled the shiv out on Kamala and Hillary. Granted, she was right both times.

It also helps that she's more of a Democrat than a Socialist. If she flips on just a few things she'd make a dandy 3rd party candidate around 2024.

There are two Democratic Socialists running (Bernie and Warren). The rest are Democrats.
I think very few on this board have actually gone to her campaign website and read her proposals/beliefs.

Any of them that call for grabbing even more taxes and growing the government are Socialists in my book.

Tulsi needs to figure out that 2A thingy.

I've said many times I like Tulsi. I just said she was right going after Kamala and Hillary. She is easily in my top five of the Dem candidates.

My comment is... it is not bizarre, otherwise we agree.
She would be the best the asz hat libs could put up against Trump. And with her common sense I feel like she would do what is right for this country.... but the libs are going to punish her some some before its over, and she will not last in the new socialist party.

She's on the right side of the most important issue, which is all of these foreign wars.

It really is bizarre seeing the love she is getting on here though. She supports Medicare for All, a $15/hr minimum wage, investment in renewable energy while cutting subsidies to fossil fuel related power, equal rights for LGBTQ, tax increases on the wealthy, etc. I don't think anyone on this board has actually gone to her campaign website and read her proposals. She isn't Bernie or Warren left, but she is definitely center-left. Her support of Medicare for All should put her firmly in the socialist camp, per the board rules.

"Democratic presidential hopeful Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) on Friday ripped President Trump over his decision to withdraw troops from northern Syria and turn operations over to Turkey.

Gabbard, an Iraq War veteran, told Hill.TV said that even though she supported Trump’s initial decision in December 2018 to move troops from the region, she said he has failed to do so in a responsible way.

“All that he has done is remove them from the northern border of Syria — really laying out a red-carpet, a green light for [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan and Turkey to launch an ethnic cleansing and offensive against the Kurds,” Gabbard told Hill.TV.

“Because of Trump’s failure to end the regime change war in Syria — the Kurds are now paying the price,” she added."

If I were a lib I would be pleased to read such a clear and concise set of beliefs that she presents... not hiding much that I can tell. She speaks clearly and does not rant or rave like the rest of the cast in the circus.

She will start climbing in the ranks I think, ought to anyway.

“Up to this point, I have been opposed to pursuing impeachment because it will further divide our already badly divided country.

“However, after looking carefully at the transcript of the conversation with Ukraine’s President, the whistleblower complaint, the Inspector General memo, and President Trump’s comments about the issue, unfortunately, I believe that if we do not proceed with the inquiry, it will set a very dangerous precedent. Future presidents, as well as anyone in positions of power in the government, will conclude that they can abuse their position for personal gain, without fear of accountability or consequences.

“If we allow the President to abuse his or her power, then our society will rot from top to bottom. We will turn into a banana republic, where people in positions of power—from the president all the way down to the traffic cop—will feel it's okay to abuse their power with no consequences.

“This is not the kind of country that any of us want to see.

“So it is unfortunate, but necessary, that I speak in support of the inquiry into the President’s alleged abuse of power in relation to his interactions with Ukraine’s leaders. This inquiry must be swift, thorough, and narrowly-focused. It cannot be turned into a long, protracted partisan circus that will further divide our country and undermine our democracy.”

Still not sure what the love affair VN PF has with Tulsi is, but whatever.

Like I said earlier, she's in my top five. But she doesn't have the name recognition or a message that is inspiring people. The Hillary spat will help Tulsi a bit. Not sure it will result in any meaningful gains. I did like her response to Hillary though.

Agree... she has some energy now. But those on the left still running are now going to gang up her (as expected).

As a conservative... if my party had to lose in 2020, I could go with her. I just cannot see any redeeming traits with any of the others running... zero, nada, nothing. They are all paddling in the same canoe as Hillary... a despicable group.

Lets take a moment here and give thanks to our POTUS, Donald L Trump. he is fighting for you and me. Nighty night!

No one on the left running for the nomination is going to gang up on her, because she might as well not be running. It would be a waste of resources.

Tulsi is more left wing than Hillary. Not sure how she suddenly became the darling of the Right, but whatever.

Everyone assumes the board leans right, but there are far more independents than are given credit.

There are some independent types, but it is overwhelmingly Red Hat territory on here. Which makes the Tulsi love even more odd, since she is further left than Hillary ever was.

I can only speak for myself, but I've thought for awhile like Tulsi seemed like a somewhat genuine person, which is a rarity in politics. I don't support her all of her political beliefs, but let's be honest, most campaign promises never come to fruition thanks to our incompetent Congress(which is sometimes a blessing). The fact that she's willing to call Hillary on her BS impresses me even more.

Now let's see if she survives or not.

I'm actually surprised no one has mentioned Tulsi suiciding herself given her comments about Hillary. I will say this, if something does mysteriously happen to her, I'm going all in on the Clinton conspiracy theories.

I think that explains the love affair VN has with Tulsi. She eviscerated Kamala in debate, then went after Hillary in Tweet. She's further left than Pete but everyone on here supports her. It makes no sense.

I'm not so sure there is as much support for her for President as you assume, but there is support for here sticking it to the likes of Kamala and Hillary.

Again, she is on the right side of the most important issue, which is ending all of these wars,
