The fact is circumstances changed early in the season from what happened in the O&W game, all of preseason, scrimmages, etc. Everyone, coaches and fans alike, shifted opinion while new information was presented to them. But, unlike fans, coaches have to have a sense of long-term vision and not have knee jerk reactions to every little thing. They are also aware of things such as small sample sizes, variance, and just flat playing a bad game.

Fans can talk coaching decisions like they are playing Madden, but that isn't the real world. CJP gave JG a reasonable amount of time to show what he had during all of the offseason. He didn't knee jerk react, nor did he overplay him. I think he played it just fine. I might even say great.

Devo I still have a lot of questions about Pruitt's use of some players. I think Maurer performed way way better than Pruitt lead us to believe. The game where he put Maurer in to run and Shrout in to pass was nothing more than a gimmick. I also believe Shrout is much better than Pruitt let on. The kid has zip on the ball. From what I saw Shrout just high on his passes. Much like JG was.
Even more shocking is how much more Chaney can open the offense up now.
Many of the reporters also were writing articles that JG just wasn't the man but we'll I'm sure Pruitt never even read or heard any of those articles (pun intended) but we'll just agree to disagree.
PS. I 100% behind Pruitt as our coach and hope we keep Chaney and Ansley for several years so for the first time in a long time we can have some much needed continuity. All coaches make mistakes

You’re also wrong about the pass. JG looks the safety off and then hits Ramel in stride. It was a good throw and saying otherwise is just unnecessary hate. JG was the better QB Saturday. If he plays like that the rest of the year I’m completely ok with him taking over. Maybe he needed to lose his job to lock back in

I was going to like this until you started talking about JG taking over as starter for the rest of the year. Your points early in the post are spot on, however.

I can see a fun short series where the attacker is attacked, then that one is attacked and on and on till the end where the bandaged headed cop ends it and it comes full circle...
