Maurer listed as the starter for Bama

I don’t think they practice while they’re under concussion protocol. If Pruitt has already announced him as the starter, the medical evaluations are completed.

Right. I'm sure that a baseline was established when he first enrolled and the medical staff has done all the required testing to see where he is in comparison. If he's practicing, he's obviously been cleared.

I'm not sure he ever had a concussion, but they held him out for precautions. It was a pretty scary looking play when his facemask looked like it was stuck in the turf. I thought more of a neck thing than a concussion at the time.

I agree. Calling it concussion related causes less panic than a neck or spinal issue.

Equal?

Not in any measurable way. LMAO

Maybe after two or three years BM could be better than JG ever has. Right now he isn't as good. By the time he is ready HB will be here.
If JG had been productive and made plays when it mattered, BM would never have seen the field regardless of the stats you have produced. If JG had been even an average Qb, fans would have not been clamoring for a change. Try to dispute that those facts. He is a bottom tier SEC Qb mainly because he has never been a gamer on a consistent basis. Having two or three decent starts in a career now in it’s third year makes him a subpar QB.

"""Maybe after two or three years BM could be better than JG ever has. Right now he isn't as good. """

You're not any good at whatever it is you're trying to do here.

And Maurer is twice the quarterback, as a freshman, as Guarantano is as an upperclassman. The coaches agree.

As a matter of fact, almost everyone agrees. Except you and Jarret's mom and dad.

Are you Jarrett's dad?

I kinda agree. We haven't put it together with JG and BM could be the spark the other guys need.

He hasn't played well. We were "energized" for one quarter. That wears off though. He hasn't shown he can execute consistently.

If he plays the same next game as the last three quarters they will play JG and wait on Bailey.

Wrong!
Coaches now see how much potential BM has and how the team has responded to him. Sitting BM now could do more harm to his confidence than going against Bama and having a bad game. He does not lack confidence, just needs experience.

Who averages more yards per pass and more yards per completion?

I'll save you the trouble. It's JG.

So BM is throwing shorter passes and STILL turning it over.
Yeah. If you count FCS UTC that's true.

I'll save YOU some trouble.... Take UTC out and JG averages 11.9 yds per completion. Maurer averages 16.5. JG averages 7.4 yards per attempt. Maurer averages 7.9 (in part because he's willing to throw it away.)

So unless you are trying to say that JG would make a great FCS QB... you're wrong... again.

I don't make a lot of predictions... but if Pruitt does this and doesn't even give Shrout a shot... Bailey won't matter. UT will end up with 8 or 9 losses and Pruitt's fate will be sealed unless he performs some kind of miracle in year 3.

I don't think it's too much to ask to slide when it doesn't matter and take the big hit only when it's crucial.
You're right, but in the history of the sport and the QB position many that have played the position have struggled as to the best time to slide. My guess is that JG is one tough cookie with his past history of getting destroyed the last 2 years but might slide early whereas BM seemingly has a glass jaw but not afraid to keep sticking his head in there. Some would consider one courageous and some would have question marks about ones iq!

Actually JGs is higher.

Wrong like always.
22 starts with 24 tds for 1.1 per game

BM 2 starts 2 tds. 1 per game

LOL. JG has 24 TD's career, not as a starter. He is actually the same as BM! 1:1! HE IS GETTING BETTER! HE was 0.85 TD per game before UTc! LOL

At this point we know JG is not a quality QB. The jury is still out on the true freshman.

You really, really don't like Maurer.... you can deny all you want but it is pretty obvious.

JG is tough. One of his best qualities.

Maurer has to learn to protect himself. It won't matter how good he is if he can't stay on the field.

Glass jaw? Doesn't really look like it. They protected him vs UGA in a game that was already getting away from them. I don't see a big problem with that. I haven't seen JG flipped on his head like that... so I don't know if it would have given him a concussion or not. Regardless, BM has to account for backside pressure and he has to get out of bounds or get down after getting what he can. That flip was a pretty awkward and odd looking play. BM didn't really attempt to jump him. He looked to be trying to side step him.

You are the known racist just own it. But besides that dumb argument you are wrong again.

JG set the first one up. He literally threw the pass that put us in Bama territory before the first score.

Bama relaxing with a lead vs the backup is what I have always said.
LOL. I give you to February before you start talking about Hill being the starter (because JG is going to transfer).

It isn't when you drop UTC. If BM were the starter and the gameplan designed for him vs UTC... he would have had an absolute field day.
Another one of those ifs!! If that's what you think would have happened I can't believe that it wouldn't have I guess. If you ever have a boat you should name it "woulda, coulda, shoulda". I'm still waiting for you to tell me what QB built like BM is currently being effective as a Freshman at a power5 school, you said there were many.

I don't want to see BM hurt and don't want him to play in fear of getting hurt. I do think that he will gain tremendous experience playing against Bama, experience that will pay off later this season and next year.
I remember when Dobbs first faced bama. I swear I think it helped him. Maybe it will Maurer also.
