Well, no. He is still partly to blame for the Ga st debacle, if not largely to blame. Completely unprepared and uninspired team in week1 is inexcusable. That is not forgotten, but win out and much will be forgiven.Serious question....After getting beaten this weekend, if (and this is an enormous IF) Tennessee wins out does Jeremy Pruitt get any talk of SEC Coach of the Year? To get THIS Tennessee team from getting beaten by Georgia State to 7-5 would be remarkable IMO. But Coach O or even Mullen might be too good. Again, I understand that this is HUGELY improbable.
Tee on the sideline shuffling WRs is a good thing.I hope we play every single game left on the schedule with the same general strategy we used this weekend. Run that damn ball, play sound defense, and get the ball to our WRs in space. It’ll milk the clock and keep our players rested. We can get to 6 wins doing that.
I also hope we see more of Tyler Byrd. Looks like he’s still fast enough to be a weapon in the slot
Legitimately the best chance to win as a huge underdog. I don't see why more teams do that as well.Media asked How do you stop Bama's amazing offense? Pruitt said There's this HS team in Arkansas everyone talks about that doesn't punt and always on side kicks. Maybe we'll do that. Have to find a way to not give them the ball.
lol that was a great answer
Yes.Am I wrong?
Don’t get me wrong - I’m not dumping on that specific recruit and I do think our recruiting is better. Nevertheless - the point remains we still hype guys up as diamond in the rough types when they don’t have a ton of offers and or are lowly ranked.
Nothing has changed from the butch years to now for us recruiting fans.
Hoping we scheme more to his strengths now. Less route heavy and more get him the ball and let him fly.Irrespective of good attitude by JG and others; Tyler Byrd's patience and willingness to stay and work at it is more impressive to me than JG or the others who have played a lot of snaps that came in with them. Tyler Byrd could and should have been a starter at CB on D, but when converted to WR by Botch should have been given more opportunities to play it. JG has been given three seasons of opportunities to start and prove himself after a RS year to learn the position. It does not take away from JG's good and team first attitude now if one admires Byrd more for his dedication.
Byrd starred in HS and in the AS game against top competition at CB and as a returner. He ran legit low 4.3 forty and had an official recorded time at UT of 4.29 his freshman year. Botch refused to design scheme for the talent, he was a system coach only. Just another reason why he is no longer HC. Chaney has no problem scheming to his talent.
