Oh but it is a zero sum game. We only have a finite amount of troops and resources available. Throwing either of those into the sandbox will indeed take away from what can/should be done domestically. Its not a zero sum game. The dichotomy of either only defending our own borders while we leave a vaccum for ISIS to flourish and expecting to remain safe is naive.
Non-interventionism =/= isolationism
Being the world's police has not made us safer, it's had questionable results for the people we try to help, and it's bankrupting us. We ******* created ISIS. But at least we're "playing the game" I guess
How can you be sure of that? I can't be sure it has but it's been 18 years since 9/11 without anything remotely as significant on our soil. I'm not suggesting that the correlation between taking the fight to them caused that, but it's worth mentioning.

There was anything remotely as significant as 9/11 in the previous 200+ years of our country. How can you be sure of that? Uhhhh, why did 9/11 happen? Do you think we started being the world police after 9/11?

Are we to expect to have troops over there another 18+ years?
Yes it is working, except that we're going bankrupt doing it.
So no end in sight as far as you are concerned. Thanks
