Baker isn’t 1/2 the athlete he thinks he is and isnt as precise as Brees so his stature is really hurting him right now.

hope to avoid that. i do think we can win this game......but we're going to have to be very "un-Tennessee" like to start winning some conference games. and we need the rest of these teams to continue to struggle some. hope the noon crowd can bring it again.

We definitely “should” not win. We’re really 10 point dogs when you factor in Vegas gives 3 for the home team. With that being said good coaching can steal games from teams. Them coming off a bye having basically 2 weeks to study maurer is probably going to be the difference. I just want a hard fought close game where we look like we belong for 4 quarters. There’s no excuse for anymore 25+ point losses outside of Alabama.

Maurer was confident and you could see it in the way he threw the ball, he lead his WRs and didn't wait to see them open.

Agreed, but by the same token Brees gets a LOT more protection from his OL. It's a lot easier to be accurate and precise when you're calm because you know your OL will give you time. I dislike Baker and hate the browns so I'm glad they're sucking, but I don't think Baker is as bad as the team and organization is making him look.

Kinda worried Bailey decides he doesn't wanna sit behind Maurer next year...

The good news for Bailey is that Maurer would be a Sophomore next season, so he could RS and then could compete in year 2 for the backup role and potentially take over at QB in Year 3 if Maurer leaves early.

I like the idea of some real competition at that position though. So hoping Bailey isn't soft and just wants to be named the starter day 1 cause of what he did in HS.

Yea those teams are horrible. Bama duh. MSU and Missouri are decent so I’ll write those off too. But there’s legitimate excuse as to why we couldn’t win those home games and Kentucky on the road. Not roster, not QB, not coaching etc.
