I had mixed thoughts on the Banks video.

The things said should not be a distraction to the team, and it seemed it had become that, at least with the media circus coverage. Blame the media, blame whomever. The fact is, he said what he said. However, I have said stupid stuff before; guess was just lucky for whatever reason.

I do hope it is a learning lesson for him. I liked his style, his energy. Realistically, he always seemed like a personal foul waiting to happen on the field. But again, I liked his energy. Will miss that.

Ultimately, I think CJP had to do this, regardless if anything else surfaces. Honestly surprised Thompson was not a casualty and was probably only saved because no charges stuck (nor a video made available). Hopefully, this sends a message to the team. One we all have had to learn, or should learn..."don't do stupid $hit!".

We all have done stupid stuff. So not casting stones at Banks. I wish him the best. However, I also respect CJP for doing this, even if it was from external pressure. We may never know the real reason.

Poster Volzown on VQ called the Banks thing about 20-30 mins before it was reported.

He now says tmz will drop something else related to assault. In his words, "Just enough for Banks to lose all respect of women and hopefully men."

Starting Maurer allows the coaching staff to evaluate his body language and how the team reacts to him. Get him ready for Mississippi State next week.

This is what I want to see most...how does the team respond to him? Do they come out fired up with energy, or are they like they have been for the last 6 games or so...flat?

The thing is it is going to be reported to make everyone look as bad as possible as it is TMZ. They should realease everything at once with a clear time line if they cared about actually breaking news.

Just saw the news and I'm sure it's been said but I hope the Knoxville media is happy about ruining Banks' life.

i'm against how the KNS and media handled this whole situation.

but...it's not their fault.....whatever banks did, banks did....not the media.

again, i don't think the media handled this right at all and have been relatively vocal about it......but let's not get it twisted.
