Jeremy Banks needs to be dismissed

“Crime infested neighborhood”? Lol. Maybe you don’t know, but Cordova is a suburb just east of Memphis, considered one of the nicer areas of the Shelby county area, maybe a notch below Germantown. He ain’t from Orange Mound or from Brooks rd.

Actually, most of Cordova has been annexed by the City of Memphis so technically, its not a suburb. It is one of the nicer areas in Memphis but it is far behind Germantown, Collierville, Arlington, Bartlett, Lakeland in any metric used to determine "niceness" of an area.

Lol and you have been on here for a year or more starting a million threads belittling and calling on others at any Chance you get to destroy the social life of a player on the team. It got to the point that someone should have warned JG that he has a stalker. You of all people on this board are lecturing other s about moral values ??? Oh yeah and by all accounts JG is a great guy. Just he didn’t play well enough so you belittle any chance you got or in one of the bazillion threads you started on him. You are the definition of a hypocrite
Honestly, that’s a fair statement.

That's just you cherry-picking the post and putting your myths into your bias basket. Plus you're saying you can post your opinions on the matter here but I must not do so unless I share your bias view. And a copsucker can be and often are cops too. Although I know you and your ilk don't but for any who genuinely want to understand the term "copsucker" here's a link: Welcome Copsuckers | Cop Block

I trust you to be more intelligent than volfannbama and realize it's not so much about cops as it is about a citizen faction that are to put it mainly and perhaps a but humorously, Copfansforlife or CFFL. Which is OK for people who can actually think rather than just mouth breath spite slogans.
Oh im not telling you you can post your opinion, just that you chose a stupid manner to express it. Its not cherry picking, what you said is the equivalent of "with all due respect" right before you curse someone out, when actually you intend no respect at all.

I get what you’re saying, and appreciate the out of the box thinking, but there may be problem with due process and excessive fines.

I think the biggest thing to understand here was what the actual video showed of Pruitts conversation then what has been inaccurately transcribed.

Pruitt couldn’t believe that prior to any of this that he had never been notified by anyone that Banks even had an “arrest warrant” he couldn’t believe that the whole time Banks was practicing and playing no one in Knoxville notified him of Bank’s status. (Otherwise I’m sure it would of already been handled prior to this situation and this incident would of never happened)

Pruitt is right in the sense that he should of known of the Arrest Warrant well in advance.

Agreed. Police Officers understand it's part of the job. People get mad, they say stupid things, let's not ruin their lives over it. He apologized, took care of his fines. Internally punish the kid, make him volunteer in community service role, move on.
Make them go on a few ride alongs and get a perspective of the bs police go through.

The fact you feel this way is an indictment on how corrupted our culture has become. It’s really sad.

I'm willing to bet you've given a pass on similar or worse statements for different people throughout your lifetime. Not to make this political, but our Prez has said some pretty reprehensible statements over his life and people treat him like the second coming of Christ. (BTW this is not a post to trash the Prez).

Again, you're making a mountain out of molehill.

It's not "ok" in a human decency sense, but it's hardly some action worthy of suspension or being kicked off the team entirely. You're making a mountain out of a molehill here.
Talking about shooting cops while you’re being arrested and threatening a female that “he’ll see her around campus” is making a mountain out of a molehill?

So are you one of those idiot "copblockers"? I'd like to know so I can just add you to the ignore list. TIA

What garbage. Why was the friend checked for a license when he arrived?

Again, I really dislike cops. Just absolute fools.

The cops should be apologizing to Banks.

I hope you or your loved ones never need one of those "fools" who choose to put their lives on the line on a daily basis for the good of our communities---including you.
Banks obviously screwed up, but I have little heartburn with what happened or what Banks said, especially given all the circumstances. He should have done better and probably will in the future. He'll learn from this and be a better man.

A poster on a message board has no excuse for a comment like that. If you truly feel that way, I'm sorry.

Some of you guys want to win; Regardless. This Statement about Shooting at Cops is way over the line. It reeks of a Threat; at least a warning to Police, who already have a tough time doing their JOB with fear that the next pullover will be a shootout. God this Society is going to Hell. Damn; can you not see the Problem here? We have one guy punching a Cop, ("He swung at me first!) and now this? With no law enforcement we have anarchy. Welcome.

And like I expected, you didn't even look at what the term copsucker really means. Your intent is to remain narrow-minded, uninformed, and as 45-ish as possible. I think you're a nice kid somewhat about as sharp as a pound of wet liver.

Yep. That is very alarming. No wonder we have weekly shootings.

Nice kid? Im retired from the Marines, hardly a kid....entertaining people that need to research the term copsucker as if people who use the term need to be taken seriously is also stupid.

Just an observation to supplement Woodsman Vol: A long time ago, I had a friendly association with a veteran KPD captain who I'd have coffee with occasionally. He often told me that many -- not all, but many -- guys who want to be police officers want to because they don't like being told what to do but they do like telling other people what to do. That was just an observation of his.

Well he didn't threaten either one, so yeah it is.

banks doesn't need to go. He's a dumb kid that ran his mouth, thank goodness there wasn't cell phones and cameras everywhere when I was 19.
I agree with that but this wasn't a cell phone that recorded it this was police body cam. Plus while I don't know you outside of here I wouldn't think you would have told a cop that where you are from yall shoot cops.

He was cooperative. He was calm. He didn't resist. So he said a couple of stupid things. He didnt shoot at anyone, and he didnt run.

Nothing to see here
Watch the entire hour long video...pay special attention to the ride to the detention facility. What was shown in the short TMZ video is mild by comparison. The police could not have been more accommodating.

The young man has issues that need to be straightened out for his own good. I don’t think dismissing him, this time, is the answer....but he needs to be on notice.

The complete lack of respect for a person's right to free speech and right to bear arms among our fans and nation, is downright troubling. I think we've been free for so many generations and don't have educational systems that develop true critical thinking about human history, have led to this.

If that merits a dismissal, we might as well close down our sports programs.
He was angry and said something very wrong. But, dismissal? Would our rivals?

They would if they had any Integrity. That said, IF Banks is allowed to stay, he should be REQUIRED to spend Every Friday Night Rolling with the Police on call.

There is nothing buffoonish about Pruitt’s comments to Banks, the cops, or the media on this situation.

I think Pruitt’s biggest weakness is that he can barely hold a decent conversation. It’s amazing that his public speaking and communication skills weren’t better vetted by the powers-that-be.
