It’s very simple. Butch was winning games in his first 2 years and Pruitt isn’t
Doesn’t mean who will be better but it’s a fact butch did better in his first 16 games.
the coaches aren't telling them "we've arrived" either. let's just say they're probably "managing" expectations at this point.I’m with all of it. I just don’t think the losses are “baked in” like some have said. The coaches aren’t telling recruits they’re going to get their heads beat in this weekend and the casual fan expects a semi-competitive product every week.
I’ve seen it myself both on this website and in real life - people get more irate with each loss. Acceptance of where we are as a program is easy to remember from a distance. It isn’t so easy watching your favorite team look like a JV team vs a program you used to regularly beat.
Butch was able to bring in about 15 more kids than Pruitt. Looking at guys like Bryce, Toot & Crouch I'm sure a extra 15 Pruitt recruits would do wonders right now. Butch inherited a top 10 offensive line and still couldn't reach a Bowl. Jeremy has the rest of the season to go 6-6 and tie Butch's 2 year gold standard you've created.
he brought in 59 or 60 kids in those two top 7 classes in total.Sorry but butch never brought in 40
If Pruitt goes 6-6 they will be even and I’ll even agree with you that the extra signees makes Pruitt more impressive. I can’t see 6-6 happening though but it darn sure would change the narrative

MSU, USCe, UK, Vandy, UAB, MO...would have to go 5-1 against those 6 to get to 6-6....3 home, 3 away.
possible? yes.
probable? ehhhh probably not.
but that's where we are, so gonna root for it to happen until it can't.....
Boy, that defense in year one sure was stellar. Trotting out Daniel Hood, Jacques Smith, Dontavis Sapp, Brent Brewer, Jaron Toney, Sutton as a freshman, Brian Randolph, and Ladarell McNiel as starters. Max Arnold was a backup safety. That roster was awful.
Year one was probably Butch’s best coaching job. Was an overturned review from beating a 9-4 Vandy team and making a bowl. Lost to UGA in OT on an effort play.
State sucks so a bye shouldn't matter. The QB has one read and takes off with the ball. Should be simple to scheme against them. At least Kansas State and their FCS staff made it look simple.

Their current QB is a dual threat true freshman who ran and threw all over Kentucky. Their starter might be healthy by gametime due to a shoulder injury.State sucks so a bye shouldn't matter. Will be an interesting game. All your points were spot on. Kylin Hill is an outstanding running back. I don't know how their o line is, but they should have success running the ball on us. I've seen nothing to make me think our front 7 will hold up well against the runTheir current QB is a dual threat true freshman who ran and threw all over Kentucky. Kylin Hill will shread us on the ground. If Shrader is the QB, he can add insult to injury. If Stevens is the QB, he can wear us out down the field. Don't get cocky about that game. We can beat them, or they can show up and embarass us. They need that win just as bad as we do to right their season.

they should have never let what's his name go...Keyton Thompson....If Shrader plays, you have to make him throw the ball. He will make mistakes.
I have a good friend who is a MSU alum, and he questioned why they started Stevens against Auburn. He said they didn't have a chance getting down 21-0 and then Stevens was done. It makes you wonder if they will play for the future and start Shrader.
Gus just named his score with a true freshman QB. They suck, we suck. Time to see who sucks the least I supposeTheir current QB is a dual threat true freshman who ran and threw all over Kentucky. Their starter might be healthy by gametime due to a shoulder injury.
