But I don't pay attention to yours lol.Oh i pass out likes like we pass out schollys
Yes, I don’t care if he has a senior QB or freshmen. Take a GT if you have to.so require him to win 7 games with a Freshman QB?
If Pruitt wins 4 games in year two we will all be very disappointed but definitely keep him.
You’re gonna have to give him an extension to appeal to recruits and potential assistants because surely you’re going to replace 3-5 assistants whether you’re firing or they are leaving. The hardest thing to do is convince a proven coach to leave a comfortable situation to join a coach that is on the hot seat. Especially considering you basically have 4 guaranteed losses next year in bama, uga, @ Oklahoma, And Florida.
It’s what ultimately got butch and Dooley fired. Butch’s last staff outside of shoop is the worst collection of coaches I’ve ever seen.
Same thing with Dooley. Wilcox leaves and Dooley can’t land a proven DC so he hires Grimace as his DC and that was all she wrote.
Yeah, 4 wins is the floor for retention to me. You grin and bear it and pretend like everything is fine. The problem is he’ll be on the hottest seat in the country and recruiting will suffer because of it. So we’ll have a mediocre by our standards class going into a make or break year.If Pruitt wins 4 games in year two we will all be very disappointed but definitely keep him.

So is Yale, but being a historically top ten program does not help you in the W-L column or on the field. We are in a hole that we will need to dig out of. It is what it is. Next year will be leaning on the Pruitt's Jr's, Soph., and Freshmen to carry this team. I don't even know what Seniors will be on this team that will contribute.Yes, I don’t care if he has a senior QB or freshmen. Take a GT if you have to.
Year 1 - 5-7
Year 2 - 4-8
Year 3 - 7-5
Yes he would need to show major improvement with these records and the 4-8 this year may be generous. So we should expect to not make a bowl game three years into a head coaches stint at a top ten program? That is ridiculous.
But I don't pay attention to yours lol.
Anyway, like I said, not only was the supposed missing effort, there, they were actually doing a decent job.
Has nothing to do with weighing this vs that. I want a good FB team so that we can stop losing. Get decent to good qb play and we're closer than some are admitting.
I just don’t know how Fulmer could sell a three game regression in year 2 to the boosters and say this thing is going in the right direction. My gut tells me they’d close ranks like they’ve done in virtually every other sport and start hiring Tennessee people.I think the amount of success with Pruitt will be determined by recruiting. He closes well in recruiting this year, he gets another year regardless of the record. Everyone acknowledges that the Vols are short on talent (The degree is arguable), but I think it's obvious he's not a coach that can do "more with less". If he has to settle for recruits similar to what he has now, he won't survive next year and may not survive this year with a 2 win season. My gut says he gets another year.

That team will then have to replace its two best WRs and likely best RB (with nothing behind Gray) while breaking in a young QB. That’s not a recipe for success even if the offensive line keeps getting better.
Defense is just as scary. We’re getting nothing from the JUCOs and Solomon and two linebackers who would’ve been depth just transferred. We all really like To o To o but he can’t do it by himself and Crouch and Harrison are looking more like rush ends than middle linebackers. No depth in the front seven at all.
I believe in the corners even if they’re having a bad year but we’re getting nothing out of the safety position and I don’t see a clear replacement plan there either.
Man this team looks like it was walking into a funeral.

That ESPN article was telling also. Lot of players “had to go”. Lot as in 20. One could say that Bronco’s second season at UVA showed much more improvement (even tho Pruitt’s isn’t even halfway done yet), but that first tumble was way more epic. London had steadily lost, but had recruited well...at least on paper. The turnaround was contingent on the WHOLE roster buying in...body and soul. That wasn’t immediate. Now Mendenhall had been a HC for 11 successful seasons before taking on UVA, so you can cite that as an uneven parallel with Pruitt, but I’d ask why was there growing pains at a new stop? Why wasn’t the culture immediately transformed? Because reality.
And Old Dominion had a 17 point lead at one point. Oh the threads on here! But look at who they beat this year. They beat Pitt., W&M, Ol Dominion and a Florida State team that only beat La-Monroe by 1pt in OT. Argument seems eschewed. Pruitt should be 2-2 and probably 3-1 if anyone had a pulse vs Ga ST.
