I can think of DWA against Florida and he over threw wide open Palmer on a deep route against BYU.

What other plays specifically are you talking about that are just huge missed opportunities?

Send me the game film Hankster, I'll cut you a full video highlighting all the missed opportunities by JG.

Honestly just trying to be hopeful. Like you, if we sign a top 10 class I'd ****, but it will prob be more like 14-18, sorta like the 2018 class, unless he recruits out of his mind these next few months.
I'd be happy with anything top 20 at this point.

And for once I don't want to hear how it's not enough talent. Mizzou gets it done with top 40 classes. Vandy has beaten us 3 straight with top 50 or whatever classes. Develop our top 20 players into even a ~top 25 team for once and we'd be fine and get better classes.

This idea that merely top 20 classes are horrifically untalented and can't be won with is absolute BS bad coaches spill out. Good coaches sack up, outscheme, and outdevelop others. We have been an "other" for far too long. Not saying we win the SEC or East with them, but should be enough to go 8-4 and get recruiting momentum. But if we are getting top 20 classes and look like a top 100 team, that's a major problem and talent is not the excuse.

Just a thought on guys like Reid, Ignont, etc (assuming they didn't graduate already).

They are possibly giving up a year by transferring, sitting out 2020, and playing as a rs sr in 2021.

Just hope they understand a possible consequence of their actions.

Freak uploads them to Youtube. Partially what I used to cut up all of Pope's blocking plays. Missed pass opportunities will be a bit tougher because camera angles are very limited downfield fwiw. Nor is it easy to know what the progressions called for. Easier if you can find ones on the same side of the field and on a replay where they may cut to a different angle. Good luck, would be interested to see more analysis on this.

Or just ask Power T Tape to do it. He's excellent at that stuff and has great technical knowledge (not saying you don't, maybe you do, I just know he does and he already enjoys that stuff).

Somehow he wasnt like that last year. I know hes had some tight windows but ffs if he can just deliver a 90 mph fastball instead of 100 mph one hed be fine. Where did he even get this idea from? I cant even think of an NFLer that rockets short passes to that degree.

He doesn’t have a feel for the game and never has. One of the biggest things that separates college QBs from NFL QBs is their ability to adlib and go off script when the play breaks down, your primary option isn’t there, or when something unexpected happens (good or bad).

I don’t think JJ was his primary option and when he suddenly flashed wide open like almost too open he freaked out and just fired it in there.

This play by Dak Prescott and Jason witten extending the play baiting the coverage to the sideline and up then leaning out behind them is everything i said at the top all in one play. Absolute perfection.

I bet they graduate by the end of the summer and the crazy part is our AD will be forced to foot the bill if that’s the route they choose to go

Nope, Sciano was the backup plan to Mullen. The same day Mullen turned us down and took the UF job, Scianogate Sunday happened. Pretty sure you could google it and find the timeline.

This is what happened. Mullen's staff thought they were going to Tennessee. This is one of the few times I have insider connections.

That's not game film though...that's the televised game. There's a bit of a difference, game film usually covers the entire play. The same stuff the coaches/players use for film study is what I meant.

Yea, and usually those other places don't win many games either. If JG wouldn't have thrown into 3 guys in a zone to start the second half against BYU, we probably win. I get the defensive breakdown at the end, but the defense had played great all game, and we gave them 25 yards to score.

He's just not seeing the field.

I hear you bro. I just think there’s a lot of people playing both sides of the fence in an attempt to take up for the coaches.

People can’t say Pruitt doesn’t have the horses to win or be competitive in games then turn around and say this team is 3-1 or 4-0 with a decent QB.

Haha, breaks are a good thing imo. I've had a steady diet the last couple of weeks and it definitely gives perspective.

The "mob" is keeping each other worked up. Just popping in, I've seen people that are absolute known pot stirrers and trolls getting likes from what used to be rational posters and insider questions being asked to people that absolutely shouldn't be being asked.

Frustration is the catalyst but there's a definite case of the inmates running the asylum. Yep, breaks are a good thing.
yeah.....there's a couple out there that's troll game is in fuego right now.

sooo many awful takes out there today.....LOTS of over simplification....which means a lot of laziness on their part.

my advice to anyone reading, despite how much you want to.................just let it go. there's zero point in engaging at this point.

blood in the water, and the sharks, the usual ones i might add, are out sniffing around. and folks are just chumming up the waters for em.

Pruitt has supported every transfer so doubtful they sit where they go.

You keep acting like I'm defending something or saying that it's acceptable to lose those games. Why? I have reiterated many times that we should be sitting at 3-1 or 4-0 this year. The reason we're at 1-3 instead of 3-1 is on both coaches and players. But saying that we should have hired a different HC two years ago or lamenting that the past two HCs should have recruited better players over the past four years doesn't forge a path out of this mess. Either we get better with what we have or we sink lower and have an historically bad year.

So everybody in that locker room, on that sideline and in that tower better focus on helping the HC figure out how to get some wins this year. Worrying about next year is premature. We've got immediate problems to address.

Bill Clark had his program eliminated and all of his good players either transferred or graduated. Two years idle and he started right back up at 8 wins.

Good coaches get results.
He was given leeway with 35 or 40 initial counters in 1 year. Using the new grad transfer rule, he took an absurd number of fbs grad transfers. He started this year by beating an fcs team by 5 points and akron by 9. Not saying he may not be a good coach, but he was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to load up extremely fast. Not apples to apples.

Still, I will say his ability to bring a bunch of unrelated guys with zero chemistry together to win immediately is impressive.

I want to make an appeal to you guys on behalf of the 2017 recruiting class, the “5-star hearts” kids. When I first heard that description the image that came to mind was the athletes that compete in the Special Olympics.

When I was a young teenager, my much older sister who was married at the time, and had a son of her own, adopted another boy that was retarded. (I looked on the national institute of health web site to make sure I could still use that word).

My sister’s family lived in Boston at the time. Her husband was a professor at Boston University. Anyway on occasion they would come back to Chattanooga for a visit. On one such visit their adopted son was sort of wearing on me and I said something unkind to him and obviously hurt his feelings. Upon hearing about it my sister ripped into me like you wouldn’t believe.

That was many decades ago. My sister’s husband is now deceased and she lives in upstate New York. Her adopted son lives there as well in I guess a sort of home that is supportive of people similar to him. He’s actually had a pretty good life.

On Christmas I knew she was coming to visit and she was bringing the adopted son with her. I wanted to buy him a gift so I got the best black hoodie I could find. It was the one with the word Tennessee emblazoned across the front. He was extremely excited when he unwrapped the gift and opened the box.

Over the next 4 days we would meet up at restaurants and different places with my sister and her adopted son and other members of the family, sometimes for a breakfast, a lunch, or a dinner, or just to spend some time together. Every single time the guy was wearing that Tennessee hoodie. I am almost absolutely sure it was never washed. I guess for some reason he would never take it off.

Anyway the point is I just wanted to suggest that we try not to be too unkind when we’re talking about our “5-star hearts” kids. jmo.

Pruitt has to do somehow miraculously make a bowl or miraculously sign a top 10 class to keep support. However looking like 5-7 or 6-6 now as the ceiling for year 3.... sad how far we’ve fallen here at Tennessee.
