Haha, very true. However, we have welcomed 3 disappointing hires in a row with open arms and optimism.Crap product aside, TN fans throwing out "we've been patient!!", cracks me up.
We've been FORCED to give bad coaches time but when we start claiming we've been sitting quietly and full of understanding the whole time?
We were fed up and firing everyone daily in the 90's for Pete's sake"loyal" yes. "Been patient" hehe, no.
Sure they could beat the likes of GA State and (maybe)BYU, but could they handle our SEC schedule? I find that more doubtful, which leads me to believe we'd be calling for their heads in 2-3 years as well. As a fanbase, we're not going to be happy until we're successfully competing in the SEC again, and none of the coaches you listed guarantee that. There are too many coaches to name who I think would 1) take this job and 2) beat the likes of Georgia State and BYU with Tennessee’s resources in their second season.
Give me: Bill Clark, Bryan Harsin, Seth Littrell, Jeff Brohm, Neal Brown, Jason Candle, Matt Campbell, Mike Norvell, and I could name 10 more probably with some research. All those guys would take the Tennessee job.
I'm sure we have at least 1 major booster (who also owns the Browns) trying to do lots of stuff behind the scenes to get Fulmer fired .. so CJP being a failure would be his preference.Unpopular opinion...short of pulling donations to avoid the Schiano hire I don't know how much fault you can put on 'em. Pruitt is in the top 30 highest paid coaches in the country, as a first time HC. The staff are all in the top paid for their spot, friend I think is top 5 highest paid. Chaney might now be the highest paid OC in the country or damn close.
I mean the boosters need to do what exactly? Cause why open a checkbook more when we've had poor coaching searches and lack results on the field.
Your conclusion might be correct! We might be bad either way! But it doesn’t mean you don’t try something else when the incumbent has been bad.Well then...FAHR PRUITT....HIRE SOMEBODY!
Idiots..
I'm out...sick of this...doesn't matter what I think anyway..
We are just gonna keep on sucking no matter what happens.
I'm sure there is. There's really no reason that we should be worse this year than last. That's on the coaches and I'm sure theres a coaching staff out there that could get 6 or 7 wins out of this group of players. So you don't think there's another coach in the country that could've done a better job than what Pruitt has done so far?
Is Pruitt handling our SEC schedule?Sure they could beat the likes of GA State and (maybe)BYU, but could they handle our SEC schedule? We have been bad for 12 years, we should be use to losing by now. Volnation just gets off on coaching searches.
Better? I'm sure there are coaches out there who could have done better this season, but do we really want to buy out a coach to turn around and hire another coach we'll be buying out in 2-3 years? Do you believe UT is going to go out and hire a coach who has proven he can win at a high level? I don't.So you don't think there's another coach in the country that could've done a better job than what Pruitt has done so far?
Lol the money is irrelevant. It doesn’t come out of our pockets. So pay his buyout to spend the money on another coach who can't? Where's all this money we can afford to just throw away coming from?
