3 children under the age of 4 ?

You need to let that thing breathe a little lol
If you have kids every 2 years, you will have 3 children under the age of 4. I don't see how this is a need to look down upon someone who isn't even deviating from what society has determined is the accepted "norm" for quantity or spacing of kids...

This is irrelevant though. Who is the replacement that comes in after Pruitt? Given our track record of searches I don't trust us to suddenly pull a big name when we settled for a freaking Coordinator with ZERO experience as a head coach and still paid him more than 80+ other coaches in the FBS are making.
Fulmer didn’t “settle” for Jeremy Pruitt. He identified him as having the prerequisite experience as a DC and thought he was ready for this job. Fulmer wants to build this like Smart at UGA and Saban at Bama. That’s why Jeremy Pruitt is the head coach. Not because we settled.

We could have hired Mike Leach, Dave Doeren, Jeff Brohm and I’m sure of plethora of guys we didn’t even call. There are experienced head coaches that will take this job. There always has been, there always will be. We just don’t hire them.

Next big up and comer hot coaching name....ya'll heard it here first

Eliah Drinkwitz

Dude's gonna be on a lotta list at the end of this season or next.
That's who I wanted as OC before we hired Chaney and he took the Appy State job but people on here thought he sucked because he looked nerdy.

For two weeks, Swain's been saying it's the players. This past weekend, he was putting it on QB play. Now boosters are telephathing ineptitude to the field? Spread that blame.
I know he’s a former player but I just haven’t cared for him since he got his own show. something about him.

Swain is saying that the major issue with TN football is...……...

Still the boosters....
on some level, yeah. it's still dysfunctioinal.

the more immediate issue is just the "temp" status of several key leaders, namely president and AD.

Fulmer when he took the job said he never intended for himself to be a long term answer, just a short term bridge to steady the football program.

so far, not so good there.

so, at some point there's going to be yet another change at president and at AD, be it on his own or if he gets ousted (aside from football, everything else is looking good, so i don't know he just gets "fired").

but blood is in the water on the football program, so all the sharks, local species included, are probably circling..........

i think there's still more unity than there was 2-4 years ago, but i think it's pretty clear now that it's not totally unified over there.

i watched "Darkets Hour" last night, Gard Aldman as Churchill............God i wish Churchill was leading UTK thru our "darkest hour" lol......obviously totally different in every way, but i couldn't help but correlate what i was watching, to what is going on at UT.....

Scott Satterfield is at Louisville. This is his first season there.
Yeah i realized that after i posted it haha. my bad, but my point remains the same. plenty of coaches at lower programs who can field a competent team who isn't having trouble lining up, getting delay of games coming out of timeouts, playing with little to no energy/enthusiasm, etc.

Well I had my doubts about a first time HC inheriting a rebuild. It's one thing to take over as a first timer for a talented team (see Kirby Smart) or even take over for a solid team you're familiar with (see Dabo Swinney)

but to take over a team that's essentially quit on the former staff and is full of undersized "star padders" when you've never even figured out how to be a head coach yet...yeah I don't know why we hired him.

Tucker and Steele both had previous HC experience. And then quite a few names that legit were on record saying they -wanted- to get a call and would LOVE to be at UT. (Les Miles for example).

We held on to butch for 5 years for that very reason. Was that good for us?
Not sure if I agree completely there. Although there were significant shortcomings in 2015, there was still a feeling that we were on the right trajectory. When 2016 started, we thought we had finally made it. Once 2016 tanked and 2017 turned into the disaster that it was, I think we moved pretty quickly from Butch.

We don't even look to be on the right trajectory right now. But I'm not sure firing is the right course. As so many people have said, I don't think it's possible to upgrade right now. Pruitt's buyout is all the information you need to see that we have absolutely no bargaining chips when it comes to hiring a coach (we had to settle on someone with no head coaching experience, probably overpaid, and had to give him a golden parachute for him to accept the job).

WHO DO YOU GOT...NOW? Not last year...NOW.
There are too many coaches to name who I think would 1) take this job and 2) beat the likes of Georgia State and BYU with Tennessee’s resources in their second season.

Give me: Bill Clark, Bryan Harsin, Seth Littrell, Jeff Brohm, Neal Brown, Jason Candle, Matt Campbell, Mike Norvell, and I could name 10 more probably with some research. All those guys would take the Tennessee job.

Also, Mike Norvell is begging for someone to come grab him up from Memphis... He is 3-1 right now if he's our HC. there are 10-20 coaches just like him at lower level schools just looking for an opportunity. lol who do we have. you are delusional right now. LETS KEEP OUR COACH WHO TOOK US TO A 2-10 RECORD AND HOPE HE CAN GET US TO 6 WINS WITH 5-6 YEARS TO BUILD THE PROGRAM!!! HOORAY!

Crap product aside, TN fans throwing out "we've been patient!!", cracks me up.
We've been FORCED to give bad coaches time but when we start claiming we've been sitting quietly and full of understanding the whole time?

We were fed up and firing everyone daily in the 90's for Pete's sake 😂 "loyal" yes. "Been patient" hehe, no.
