No one even know whose fault that was. But it's anecdotal regardless. Overall evidence says there's not a better option at this point. But disagree with experienced coaches all you want. Why can't fans just support any player that is willing to go out there and keep playing for us at 1-3? Support the damn players, whoever the staff sticks out there.
We know who’s fault that was and Calloway lit his azz up for it.

Staff seems to see him as their best shot I would suppose. Fans have a hard time believing that, but nothing really shows us otherwise. Sometimes our best is not good enough, but it's still our best.

It's the same as fans thinking our players must just be quitting. They somehow work hard offseason and are our best during practice, but they must just be tanking in-game because they must have no nfl aspirations, no pride, and don't want the spotlight from winning. They are anomalies in the humam race in every psychological motivation aspect.

It's harder to accept the idea that we simply aren't any good. I doubt that players give up game 1, or 2, or their 1st sec game of the year. We just aren't good. That is the hard, cold idea to accept.
Our guys played hard last week. Word.

Bro, it's not learnable from stats (and I like some of your stats) but if you look with your own eyes you'll see DWA open but Tunnel-Vision-QB™ has long ago (sometimes before the snap) locked in on a different receiver.

So it is playcalling if DWA isn't the first option?

Fwiw, DWA has not gotten a single reception from amyone not named JG...

He is probably #4 ILB now. Banks should be #3. Better hope Henry T and Bituli stay healthy.

Uh-oh, why...they gonna take THE one win away? Wait, they cannot do that, can they 🤔?

All in jest...

I agree. I hope the guys that are busting their arses can stay healthy and gain as much experience as possible.

From the conversation that occurred on the sideline it appears to be JG fault. Defense was playing zone and JG didnt pickup on it.

Don't dare criticize any coaching. If you do, it'll be blamed on Butch's ****** players. Ridiculous if you ask me.

I could definitely see that being the case and it would make sense. Whoever's fault it is, to have miscommunication after 4 years together is incomprehensible.

From fingers thread JG took all first team qb snaps

@Devo182 here's JGs first 5 drives before Maurer drove us down the field for 3 points:

Punt - 6 plays, 31 yards
INT - 5 plays, 16 yards
INT - 7 plays, 11 yards
Punt - 3 plays, -2 yards
Punt 3 plays, 2 yards

Maurer:
FG - 11 plays, 52 yards

Prepare Maurer. He'll be better.

Look at what each did.

Jg 10/17 107 yards, 65%, 6.3 ypa 88 qbr

BM 4/11 44 yards (about half were yac on 1 play), 36%, 4 ypa, 52 qbr. Nfl qbr was a 7.5

Your narrowing the field by limiting it to his first 5 drives. His first 2 gained the same yards and should have ended with 7 pts in a JJ end zone catch. Overall, he simply had more yards per play, by double. His overall season has shown nothing but inefficiency.

Pruitt is pretty much screwed.

Especially if he is stubborn and stupid enough to continue playing JG and not hit the reset button by putting in Maurer and/or Shrout to show recruits this is a complete rebuild. (this is his only chance to keep a half way descent class together)

He plays JG and we continue to lose, it looks like he doesn't know what he is doing and can't see the problem... with what few quality recruits we have left that haven't already bolted, he will push them away.

He will start next season with a few new guys, but no big splash players at positions of need (except maybe by the grace of God he holds onto Bailey) and we will be looking at the same team, same performance in year three... unless he is a miracle worker and develops all these younger guys into studs who play smart disciplined football in 12 months...

We will still be playing freshman/sophomores and will still be inexperienced in many positions with little quality depth. Same song, next season.

The other teams in the conference will continue to progress and we will just tread water.

The key will be to see if this staff can develop players. Other teams like Mizz SC KY and Vandy do not have the talent on paper we do, not even close, but they whip our ass... that is pure coaching and player development... do we have that????? We will see...

Bottom line is we needed to have a top 10 class this season to really start making some headway in turning the corner and jump starting this program, but this circus of a season has removed all hope of that... I will be shocked if any high tier recruit in this class will even want to sniff this place by the end of the season. We only have instant playing time and a chance to be part of a rebuild to sell recruits. Most will go to progressing programs. Kills me to see all this talent in our own state and most will be going elsewhere...

You should add up all the yards, points, etc that JG has missed out on because he can't make simple reads or hit a wide open receiver down the field.

He could be 9/10 throwing and that wont make a difference if that 10th throw is a INT, missed throw for the first down or missed TD. I'd prefer a guy 5/10 if that means he makes good decisions with the ball and gets us points.

Give me a team of walk-ons that go out bust their F'n ass every game until they puke and I will cheer till I pass out...
Pruitt might have a bunch of faults but bringing in a ton of walk ons isn’t one of them. I’ve said it before but it’s worth repeating. Several of the walk ons are better than some of our scholarship players.
