That and our DL just isn't very good.

As long as we have to blitz like we did Saturday to pressure the QB and to stop the run... We're in trouble...

At least a good QB could move the chains and put up the occasional score...
They hold up decent in the run.

Cant get up field on pass plays.

To me it’s pretty simple what happened. For the most part JG wasn’t criticized a year ago or at least to the level he is now. At least statistically he could look himself in the mirror and think he was doing ok

Now that adversity is hitting him publicly and on the stat sheet he isn’t mentally tough enough to overcome it.

The OL is actually allowing him time to play the position now. That has proven to be a bad thing for some reason.

We re better all around him compared to last year.

He's been asked to do more this year and he hasn't responded. Agree.

Yep. I swear i think it’s just mental for him

I’m not saying he’s a great qb but when things are going his way he’s serviceable imo. I think the ship has sailed for him every getting back to that

I just wonder what happened.
I think we would all agree we have better personnel on offense and more experience. We also added tee who is an upgrade at WR coach.

Was Helton a much better OC than we gave him credit for?***(outside of the last two games when i think he was checked out and knew he was leaving)***

He wasn’t flashy or anything but he got creative at times and must have done a good job of masking JG or something.

Is Chaney just demanding too much? I know he loves vertical patterns in his concepts but i see us running a lot of short routes and swings/flats.
I dont pretend to be smart enough to diagnose every play or anything like that. But this I know:

- First and foremost red flags went up for me on JG in fall of 2017. I attend practices occasionally and have heard JG make comments that showed me he wasn't a leader. I've seen his body language first hand at these practices and knew other players didn't respect him. I dont care what they say when Jimmy Hyams puts a mic in front of them. Several dont trust or like him.

- I also know that the success of your D is directly tied to the success of your O. I feel like our D played pretty good for about 3 quarters. Did they make mistakes? Sure. We're also starting (or at least giving significant playing time) a ton of very young players. So mistakes will happen. But I think they were out of gas in the 4th mainly because our O couldn't get a couple first downs strung together to give them a break. So naturally over time they break down.

If we had any way to just occasionally rush the passer with our front 4 we would Have had a a good plan imo
The defensive plan Saturday was what it had to be.

When we didnt get there UF found the middle of the field that we vacated. We re not bad in the secondary but not good enough to cover that up yet.

This is insane. I get the theory about getting the administrations attention with or wallets but that hurts the kids way more than the administration. I an a season ticket holder because I support the Power T and what it stands for and means. I don't have love the coach, the QB or our record to be enticed to go to Neyland.

Yep. I don't see the same busts we had last year.

They're not perfect but they don't have to be.

He simply isn't "that guy" you'd like to have as a QB. People don't respond to him like you'd want abd he doesn't rise to the occasion.

He's robotic...

His best throw Saturday was a quick decision under pressure on an out for a 1st down.

I think Pruitt and Chaney hoped he would be serviceable. We re 2-2 @ worse right now if he is.

He may not be “that guy”. But he wasn’t awful last year. He kept the rig on the road so to speak.

He’s just flat out bad this year. When everything around him is better

NFL tidbits:

These NYG fans should STFU now regarding Daniel Jones after that performance today.

AK is elite and that rookie contract is criminal. 800k this year. Dude about to get PAID barring injury. No holdouts or anything. Just a hard workin' class guy. Refreshing after the AB and EZ holdouts.
