4-8 is probably safe but would be worse case imo. that not only further proves that we have a shi* headcoach but one that is going to an ultra hotseat year 3 so good luck recruiting and bringing in new assistants bc im sure some will be leaving. similar to dooleys last year.

it would be better to just completely nuke this season and go 1-11 or 2-10 an go ahead and cut our losses and go a different route.
I think even at 1-11 it’s wishful thinking. Tim Priest today said Pruitt is basically Teflon Don. He’s bulletproof this year

I feel like the first step is to just start having fun again. No one on the entire team looks like they want to play. It's pathetic to watch

K...and why do you care about that?
Don’t know what you are asking about exactly. If Urban were to come here, then I believe it’s very likely he would come to dominate in a short time. I would welcome him with open arms after what we’ve dealt with the last decade+ and I think fans who wouldn’t are crazy.

has Ansley ever been a defensive coordinator? Has Sherrar ever been a special teams coordinator? Has neids ever been a coach period before here?
Nope. And the VFL I know said he watched Ansley coach and said he was not good. He was pissed when we hired him. I told him to give him a shot and he had a good reputation now, but our secondary has certainly regressed.

Butch is there Bc he wants a head job and he’s one of the best special teams coaches around.

Say what you want about butch but our special teams were always good. It’s why saban brought him down in the first place.
If Butch made just a few simple decisions differently, he’d be here winning 8+ games annually right now

Tucker now 3-1 with 2-0 record against top 25 teams.

Of course he would be.
I remember liking his name when it popped up...even tho he blew as the Bears DC. Liked his Wisconsin connection and thought that might benefit in landing/developing big uglies.

I truly believe Tennessee has one of the best coaching staffs in the country outside Pruitt

They may be amazing coaches (Doubt it). but them lacking experience especially at the coordinator positions (not chaney) and certain position coaches isn't really debatable.

Helton was basically a 1st time Stand alone OC (Brohm called plays in his other stint)
Ansley has never been a DC
Sherrar was DC 1 year at south ala, never been special teams coord.
Neids was never a coach before.
weinke had never been a full time college coach.
david johnson had only coached in college for 2 years at memphis and tulane.

take the names off them and only look at resumes and it will change your opinon. Not sure how you can say any of them were proven.

I would want that as well I’m just saying what was said on morning radio. Of course Hyams this week asked how you can keep him if he only wins 3. I don’t see 2 more wins right now honestly.
Tim Priest is a Vol Network employee. He ain’t gonna say anything this early.

What they can do immediately is try to develop a QB. They have an extra week to see who's the best option and get him ready. Make him the leader. Use the extra time to figure out their best 22 and stop the shuffling that creates confusion and misalignments. Let guys settle into their positions and get a rhythm going. Stop moving the young guys around like chess pieces-- it's hard enough to get one position right.

Then they can let Pruitt focus on the D with Ansley and bring Tee and/or Chaney out of the booth to get in offensive guys' faces on the sideline. Let Tee and Chaney help the QB and WRs and hold guys accountable face-to-face. Show some passion and don't let the guys get down and give up. Find leaders, let the players own their positions, make guys accountable, divide and conquer, and see if that helps. We have big problems, so condense it to manageable chunks and solve what we can. JMO.

I talked myself into Tucker as well when it was down to the final 2, but I understood the reasons for picking Pruitt over him.
