Mike Leach accepted the UT Job, then we withdrew the offer... Let that sink in

Dumb move by the Athletic Department. Mike Leach would've been a great fit here. It's a miracle that a coach of his caliber was interested in the job. I don't see a coach like him being interested anymore. We're fading into irrelevance.

Steve Spurrier quoted today: “someone is going to hire Mike Leach soon, let’s just hope it ain’t FSU.”
But Spurrier is stupid according to the football experts on here and he wouldn’t be able to recognize a good coach so his opinion doesn’t count.

I’m sure you if you look at the roster he lost a lot of seniors and was playing freshman and sophomores.

The point being that he was able to improve the team in his second year with someone else’s recruits.

The fade is over man. We ARE irrelevant.

I’d take him just for the fun and potential to ruin Bama or the lot lizards season.

Who cares about titles at this point I just want to be competitive.

I had been against this stuff for a while.......but I was wrong.

Tennessee needs to simply get back to winning and doing that consistently.

Except Leach didn't have an offer to accept.

Remember at that point, Currie sh!t himself and was flying around on a Kansas State Donor's plane trying a last ditch effort and didn't have the power to offer any coach at that time.

With that said, people would sh!t themselves here if Leach went 12-25 in his first 3 years here.

It had been a decade since they had seen a winning season before he got there. And had won 9 games in their past 4 seasons.

Maybe close, but not exactly the same.....sure it’s bad but we haven’t seen multiple 1 and 2 win seasons.

It took him 4 seasons to get going playing weak competition and weak recruiting.

Judging by some on here, going 12-25 in 3 years would be the death of the program

12-25 at Washington State is hell of a lot different than 12-25 at Tennessee. Any coach that’s worth a damn should have UT firing on all cylinders by year three.
