Takes time to build a program.

No one claimed Pruitt was a great coach right now. He's got some tools but still has room to learn and grow...just like his team. I'd say Saban is a great coach, but his early history was bumpy. Lots of examples both ways, but when a program is as down as ours, it's hard to beat experienced teams in this league.

Or in the Sumbelt?

Derek Dooley went
6-7, 5-7, then 4-7. He had NFL talent too. If Pruitt goes 5 wins to 4 wins then to 3 wins then yes he will be fired.

My expectations for Pruitt:
2018 - 5 wins
2019 - 4 wins
2020 - 6 wins
2021 - 8 wins
2022 - 8 wins+

You only expected 4 wins in 2019 prior to the Georgia State game? Be honest.

Probably has been said millions of times, but I think it needs to be said a million and 1 times.

Where would Kentucky be if they fired Stoops after year 3?

It’s sad we have to compare ourselves to Kentucky but I would argue that Pruitt took over as much of a dumpster fire as Stoops did. It’s the state of the program. Not Pruitt’s fault. Only thing he did was risk his reputation to try and a broken program.
Where would TN be if we had ridded ourselves of boy butch after 3? Answer: better off than we are now. The question should be, is 5 years enough, should we plan on another 10 or more? At what point do you see the light?

12+ years is a long rebuild.

But maybe we should just blindly stick with a lesser version of the guy we really want just to bring us up to a level where we could hire a proven winner or reward the upstart. I don’t know anymore. I’m just along for the ride I guess. :)

It's going to take wins and losses to change our minds of course. He is my football coach and I am going to support until year 3 though. I turned on Butch and Dooley because of his dumbass calls on the field. Pruitt hasn't made any calls on the field that I have really questioned so far.
Yeah, when you are getting beat by 30 in most sec games, there are not many critical calls that stand out.

-Going for it on 4th down in perpetuity, and at unnecessary times
-Going for 2 after cutting the score to 24-6 against UGA
-Inanely rotating offensive linemen, among other things, ultimately resulting in one of the worst losses in program history
-Playing cover 3, with less than 20 seconds left in the game, when our opponent needed 50+ yds to reach “comfortable” FG range (a dime/prevent would’ve been more apt)

This is a start, but he’s made plenty of dumbass decisions that deserve more than questioning.

One fluke season ain't really a good judgment. Clemson's a better example
