Since the coaching talk is getting silly

Might want to talk to Dave Doeren again. And Fulmer could of course talk to his buddy Clawson as well. He seems to be doing pretty good at Wake Forest

Ive heard that clawson is an absolute brilliant football mind. Don't know personally, maybe somebody here does.

Mike Leach or Urban Meyer. I'll go with Leach. If nothing else, the dude is almost as sarcastic as Spurrier. And he has a good nose for QB's
Never liked either.. one has too much baggage and leach has some baggage yet his teams have been great at offense but slacked on D....

From flipping linemen at UT to whooping UNC's backside. Guess the guy wasn't such a dummy after all. Maybe he's just got smarter, better players to work with?

I doubt Clawson would take the job if it was offered.

The way he was treated...along with many other coaches to wear the orange...I'd not blame him for not even taking the call. We have quite a history of treating our coaches poorly. From Battle to Pruitt, it's the UT way I guess. Pick a scapegoat and ride him till he falls.

How about we talk about Auburn. Every year ranked high. Talked up. Then they crash and burn. When do the flames start this season?

It takes him several years to get his team going. Vol fans have no patience.

I think they said it was his 4th year. Getting ready to graduate his first recruiting class. Hope we're saying the same thing about Pruitt in a few more years.

Just won his 5th straight at WF. One thing that DC is GREAT at, is rebuilding programs.

Fordham from 0 to 10 wins
Richmond from 3 to 11 wins
Bowling Green from 2 to 10 wins
WF from 3 to 8 wins

His first 3 stops? Won the league in each.

Because of "silly" in thread title....

Hal Dumme sighting in 1Q of Wazzu-Houston.

If Leach, why not pony up the big bucks and get both Leach and Hal?

Give me the pirate. Meyer May have more success but we’d have more fun with Leach and he doesn’t seem as evil... not that Urban is evil. I’m sure he’s great.

I couldn’t agree more and that is the kind of coaching resume I have been hoping UT would hire for years now. He may would do terrible here but at least he would have the kind of track record where you could point to past successes rebuilding a program. We haven’t had that with any of our coaching hires since Fulmer. It made would take overpaying for a guy like him but it is worth the risk as opposed to another Saban water boy or used car salesmen.

Maybe I've just softened since the GA St. game, but I'm not ready to write Pruitt off yet. Our problem is, and has been, not looking at the situation closely enough. If we had, we probably wouldn't have fired Fulmer in the first place. We might have given Dooley a mulligan on his last season given the defensive struggles, and we would NOT have given Jones 5 effin' years to obliterate the program. Let's give Pruitt at least 3 years to shift from Jones' BS spread offense to what he wants the program to be.

Hell, Butch has been working with Saban for a couple of years now, give him another shot.

I'll bet money y'all geniuses that are so ready to get rid of Pruitt will wish we had Butch back when you see who they replace Pruitt with.

Well they are 2-0 in good games and have a natty and champ game appearance plus a few SEC Titles in the past decade. We are 0-2 vs non P5 opponents and have @ 1-6 record vs AU in the most recent past.

But, hey, if you wanna make fun of em' go ahead ... 🤔
