If Pruitt is the guy..we will have a better understanding at seasons end, barring any rash of injuries. The team and coaches can grow in their craft and it helps create self perpetuating expectations within the team and for the fans. We may say "look how far they have come". Makes winning sweet.
It’s been an overreaction. Warning bells and alarms for sure, and it may be the first signs of the fall, but premature know for sure

I’m gonna try to level the “perceived holiness ratio” that usually sees me rated higher than @Ulysees E. McGill. I look for McGill to get a ratings bump for holding his own during the last two weeks and this should see me drop to a 5.7

When the QB for BYU was praying... right before the 64 yard soul sucking pass, I snickered self righteously to myself... “Hmphh... wrong Jesus.”

Seconds later

So there’s my shameful moment of he week

Here's how I see this unfolding:

This season, while looking like your standard dumpster fire, is actually a prescribed burn, stabilizing and promoting the future health of Tennessee football. Burn it all to the ground, build it back stronger, the right way.

A part of this also reminds me of the Red Sox in the 2004 ALCS. Lost three straight, facing elimination, and then railed off 4 straight to win the series. Get these guys a taste of winning and maybe they find their confidence and get on the kind of roll we thought we'd see this year. I don't think we beat Bama or UGA or anything like that, but let it start clicking for this team and who knows what the actual ceiling is.
Man, I hope we can look back in two months and be like, "that post was spot ON!"

The thing that confuses me is Pruitt has been known to bench players rather quickly for fumbling/stupid mental errors, but seems super hesitant to do the same for JG.

It’s pretty much universal from fans/media/ex-Vols that JG is a problem. Why the hesitance? Like what’s his problem with at least giving another QB a chance?

Dooley did work his first class. Kiffin had a little to do with it but not that much. That’s a misconception. Harry heistand was pulling those OLmen too.
Yeah. Hiestand was awesome for us. Wait. No he was not and got very defensive when he was asked about it. I know he's a good OL coach. He was not good here.

FF so dumb they are saying that Pruitt should give Mcbride and Shrout a chance......

Hey FF. If you don't know the roster, you might want to sit the next couple of plays out.

Y'all know one thing we been missing? Outside of Trey Smith, its OL like this guy:

Despite some red zone woes, East St. Louis dominated Trinity Catholic 32-0. Spraggins helped spring a big rushing attack but was also flagged for a pair of unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, getting ejected and triggering an automatic suspension for next week.

I know winning and recruiting go hand in hang but I genuinely don't care what our record is at all at this point. Season is fd. The ONLY thing that matters this hanging on to the top tier guys like Bailey and finishing with at least a decent class. We are playing for 2020 now. Play the new guys get them some experience and please for the love of God just give Shrout or Maurer a chance.

Because they feel it's the best way to be competitive. We can win games like Auburn, but he has to be nearly perfect, and the defense has to score or play well.

And it’s not like he’s been selling playing time that well either. Recruiting has been substandard under this coaching staff and without results on the field will only get worse.

Highest recruiting ranking out of teams not making a bowl. You and jave are weak sauce. We got problems but this staff has ONE class they recruited for a year. Most of those guys looking pretty good. Not in or out on staff but that is not substandard recruiting.

Yes, JG is hindering this team, no doubt. But he's gone after this year. I don't think recruiting is going to go off of the cliff for the most part. Bailey isn't going anywhere. If you read the article from VQ, he and the guys who are committed talked about how much they need to stay in this class, and they all agreed. We might lose 1 or 2 guys committed, but I don't think this is going to fall apart. If we don't finish strong to the season, and there's still a chance that we can, then we probably won't land the Jarrett's or Gilberts. But this class can still be a strong class to help us because I think we get Baron and Hardy in this class no matter what. We have BJ already in, we have our QB of the future, and we have some good skill talent in this class. So I don't think recruiting is going to die unless something really crazy happens like a loss this weekend or a 2-10 season. But I don't believe that either of those things are going to happen.

The recruits know this is a rebuild

Yes I agree, but they've all said they wanted to see improvement and that they'll pull the trigger... I am not sure that is going to happen at this point. Especially guys like Jarrett who many think was leaning toward flipping to us will certainly not now... We just need to hold onto Bailey, some WR and LB's and we may be okay...

Eric Gray >> Ty Chandler
And should be getting the bulk of the carries.

Who wants to fight me?
I will. It's very close, though. Gray will likely move ahead later this year, but Ty is really good. Still need to get him the ball more in space. He should have housed at least one against BYU.
