Chandler had fire Saturday because he knows Gray is coming for his spot. You keep it just like it was and get the best out of both of them.

I have no confidence Pruitt is going to succeed here. I’m also not fully abandoning hope either. Just watching and seeing, and there is certainly a mixed bag and lack of consistency that leans further into the area of great concern

Here's how I see this unfolding:



This season, while looking like your standard dumpster fire, is actually a prescribed burn, stabilizing and promoting the future health of Tennessee football. Burn it all to the ground, build it back stronger, the right way.

A part of this also reminds me of the Red Sox in the 2004 ALCS. Lost three straight, facing elimination, and then railed off 4 straight to win the series. Get these guys a taste of winning and maybe they find their confidence and get on the kind of roll we thought we'd see this year. I don't think we beat Bama or UGA or anything like that, but let it start clicking for this team and who knows what the actual ceiling is.

Had we played Georgia State as the 2nd game we'd be 1-1 right now. The gameplan & effort was good enough to have won against BYU and would have been enough to beat Ga State.


CJP pointed out of the returning 7 defensive starters only 3 have actually been able to play. Gooden, Bituli, Baylen, & Bryce all inactive to start the season has hurt.

Anything that will sever a limb and pierce a kidney is fine, more or less. I prefer a bone handle though

One more thought: Not having Bituli and Bryce is huge for our defense. Bituli, in my opinion, was our best defender and the QB of the defense. I really like Henry, but to put that role on a freshman is to live with mistakes. If we had both of them, we would have won against BYU. With as limited talent as we have, you can't lose 2 of your top 3 defenders. If they make it back, we might steal a win or two.
