Can’t start em til you play them (see Nathan Peterman). So, the second one. What I personally believe that Pruitt/Chaney/Weinke are juggling is the confidence factor. You indicate too strongly that you’re prone to going in another direction and you may lose whatever good you’ve built up in your starter. And if neither of the other two options are up for it, you’ve completely tanked the season. Happened TWICE for Fulmer in non-coincidentally his only two losing seasons. Yo-yoing Ainge/Clausen the first and Crompton/Stephens the second. Both Ainge and Crompton proved worthy with proper handling...Fulmer may have shared that with his hire. If JG starts and doesn’t show much, I can see the staff really break down what the other two show...with perspective of it being their first college action. Chaney has never been timid with going another direction. Tyler Bray and Jake Fromm (even tho his opportunity came with an injury) are ready examples. Read...schmead! We’re not seeing good throws...period!Honest question, because I think you give good thought towards this stuff and have good reasons: who would you start? Would you go with the younger QB's to see how they do or go with JG and then sub in one of the other younger QB's if we pull away from UTC?
Rogers and Stone had absolutely no interest in playing for Kiffin. I believe Hunter is in that boat as well, but don’t remember it as vividly as the first two.Don't forget Dooley's first class heavily benefited from Kiffin's early enrollees which included Tyler Bray and Jawaun James. Not to mention the guys he laid the groundwork for like Justin Hunter, James Stone and Da'Rick Rogers.
JG for Heisman.
The second part about that was when he said there are gamers and we need to get the other people on the fieldPruitt: JG has practiced extremely well and has made some plays in both games.
I am convinced JG's family has mob ties and the staff is being forced to play him. That's the only explanation right?
Pruitt's words from coach's show (I think you may be right)Honestly, I didn't really watch him closely due to being in the stands. It is more than just stepping up during one game though. Leadership is something that is demonstrated over time. Not something you turn on at game time. Again, I am not saying that JG isn't a good leader because I don't see what he does during practice or meetings or other times. It is just the impression I get as a casual observer. When a WR has to step up and claim the leadership role it speaks to me that JG isn't willing to take it on.
That has been frustrating. Calloway and JJ are both above average on 50/50 fades, and JG throws a decent long ball. If nothing else it stretches the defense out and makes them think an extra half second before coming down closer to the LOS for future plays. Could be lack of faith in the OL like you said, but I do hope we see some of that soon.
How much did typing this post take out of you?I have legit made it to real apathy. I really don't care or have the effort to go through any of the explanations anymore.
Kiffin's midnight departure, Dooley in a wheelchair, finding new ways to lose, Butch's stupid sales pitches, taking buyouts so we pay CBJ to coach at Bama, champions of life, pictures of CBJ smoking cigars after beating his old team, awful local media, losing to GSU, blowing it against BYU, rival fan pity, Hamilton, Hart, Fulmer, bad calls, last minute busts, winless SEC seasons, losing streaks to Bama, Mizz, UGA, UF, and Vandy with no hope of them ending, losing season, no bowls...
I just don't care anymore. This is a never ending nightmare.
Dobbs scored 5 TD’s and over 400 yards of offense against an SEC opponent in his first full game as a true Sophomore.
He proceeded to carry us to 7-6
JG is dragging us, not carrying. It’s a massive difference regardless of how you view Dobbs sophomore season.
Pruitt is the guy boys. He's going to get us back. Patience.
