Urban go down as the greatest coach ever if he took over the VOLS and turned it around.. He'd have to deal with playing Alabama, Georgia and his former team, though. He'd never do it. Go to UCLA where it's much easier to win.
JG came out hooping and hollering for the first five minutes of the game. He had folks fooled. After that he shuts down emotionally. Meanwhile Jennings stayed hyped. That's the difference between natural leadership and somebody with a leadership certificate.
Pruitt was up in JG's face several times. Chaney and Pruitt have to know how bad he is.Yeah, I'm shaking my head. Unfortunately Taylor was in the wrong coverage...and Warrior missed the tackle to at least force BYU to try.
Game 1 I feel like the staff thought the players were "there" mentally, but obviously we saw what happened.
Game 2 fire was lit, everyone playing hard and for the first time....the first game I can say it really came down to how badly JG played.
Chaney isn't stupid, if he sees the decision making that's happening he's going to call plays around it. I'm sure Pruitt didn't want to chance JG throwing a pick either, hell anyone on that staff saw those bad passes. BYU when they -knew- it was a run was able to hold us just enough to prevent first downs...so because of JG's inability to make the right reads and move the chains enough to keep the defense honest Chaney & Pruitt altered the playcalling offensively and one bad mistake on one play on defense ruined an otherwise solid effort.

I'll probably get off this crazy train if Fulmer self-appointed himself as coach.Still think it’ll be Tee or Fulmer as the replacement. If they have to pay the buyout for Pruitt they won’t want to 1) hire an outside coach and pay the buyout at his school and 2) pay the buyout for the current staff.
Tee becomes HC, keep Chaney at all costs, then let the rest of the staff know you aren’t firing them. Many of them will take other jobs and you replace them how you see fit.
I don’t think this makes us any more successful than the trajectory with Pruitt, necessarily. But it’ll probably be the move with the least pain.
