They are correct. Don’t want to be the butt of jokes then beat somebody and don’t lose to GA State. Criticism deserved.

I wish our game was earlier. It sucks all the games that I'd like to take a peek at are on at the same time.

Don’t watch that stuff. If they mention Tennessee it’s only going to be a joke or some negative take because we are truly awful.

As a kid sat in the stands in the north end zone with my dad watching Vol legends play the game with all they had as well as through the decades that followed. Though all that time I have never witnessed what I saw last Saturday. I also know it may not be the bottom and it could go lower. However, I sincerely hope that it was just a weird aberration.

I have no idea what to expect this evening and that's what bothers me most. Which is one major reason why I want the players to play and act like JJ. There are good reasons he is who the students/fans painted on the rock. The players and coaches should care about Vol football the way he does. Guys like JJ transcend time.

How did he get that way? By growing up as a fan. Think about it. Fan support is crucial and the lifeblood of Vol football. Don't diss the fans no matter how stupid they act. Fans are not media with agendas and narratives. As players if they cannot refrain from doing that, they should stay off social media. If coaches and administrators see it, they should stop it. Players represent Vol fans everywhere. Nearly every male Vol fan who played football in HS would have given anything to play on the field that bears the General's name wearing the orange and running through the T as the POTS plays when they were the same age. Only about 25 are chosen each year. It is a privilege, not a right. The coaches should recruit the guys that get that with zero exceptions. The players should not need more "motivation" or many proverbial kicks in the arses. That's where the Volunteer spirit comes from and how many Vol teams were able to pull upsets against the odds. It's how UT became the one team Bama hated playing the most and how one won the NC during most of our lifetimes.

That's what we have been missing for over a decade. Kiffin had that mentality, but did not buy in. Dools, Botch and now, Pruitt have not bought in or shown the Volunteer spirit. Pruitt still has the opportunity and I hope he chooses to embrace it. He will need it to be successful on the hill.

Agree with most of this post except the bolded part as I was there in 1975 when the Vols LOST to North Texas State and this was prior to ship restrictions. Beginning to think the 90's - '08 was the aberration rather than the norm as Major's years were very up and down. Just need to enjoy the day as there are only 12 (hopefully more) a year.

If we take it on the chin tonight, I don't see any way that Pruitt rallies the troops for any meaningful wins. Tonight's game will define the next 2 years of the program.

At stake tonight:

A winning season, lose tonight pretty much guarantees a losing season.
A bowl game
On the fence recruits
The Tennessee fan base

90s for sure. Then they followed that up with Tee to end the 90s. Add Clausen and its a good 4 QB run. And Ainge had his moments under Cut.

Where is the easiest spot online to listen to all vol pregame? I had the sports animal app at one point but I’d prefer something else.

It’s like they’re contractual obligated to not have a former UT player on there asking Pollack when the last time they won a natty with their top recruiting classes or Tebow what his thoughts are on the legacy of the UF teams he played on considering the criminals he played with and Urban’s trying to cover up for a wife beater.

I didnt even turn that shiz on. Cant stomach them talking down about us. Mostly because it's probably true.
