I think it had more to do with a lack of scouting. GaState had a new OC and a new offense. CJP said in his Tuesday interview that they did not know what offense GaState was going to run.
They would have known if they had watched film on Western Carolina or Appy State or even film from GaState spring game. They ran Scott Satterfield’s offense from Appy State and what he is running at Louisville now. Lots of zone read with options, sweeps, and reverses mixed in.
I knew what offense they were going to run, why didn’t our staff?

We were at home, recruit on a differnet planet than they do, had a new OC/DC that put in a new offense........it was Ga State!!!!!!

No Excuse !!

Very rarely if ever was a successful head coach a first time head coach in the SEC at a program that's in a really bad spot.

Mark Stoops, James Franklin, Mark Richt, Hugh Freeze and Gus Malzahn had one year as a head coach. 4 of those in the last 10 years.

I've heard him in a couple of interviews this week and he said that we didn't get blown off the ball as much as we got "strategically moved" in a direction the offense wanted us to go. I think a lot of that has to do with inexperience and overreaction to misdirection, which is fixable. Of course, we are going to start playing O-lines that are capable driving us 2-3 yards back pretty soon.
Makes sense. Like Ga Tech did to us.

We hope you have discussed the consequences of bullying with the children in your class because in Tennessee 'you mess with one of us- you mess with all of us."

With the help of the Vol Shop and other departments on campus, the little Vol fan will be getting the surprise of his life.

"We've all collectively come together and we're sending him what we call a Volunteer Proud Pack," said Jimmy Delaney with UT Fan Experience.

The "care package" will have notebooks, a hat, jersey and signed football from head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

And that homemade design isn't going anywhere. The Vol Shop sent an image of the shirt to be printed, hopefully to hit shelves soon after it gets approval from licensing.
This is the attitude and pride that everyone who calls themself a Volunteer should embrace.

This is truly awesome. I absolutely love it.

I talked with my daughter last night about her not having to have a boyfriend. She’s got a couple friends that since the school year has started ones had 3 different and the other 4 different boyfriends. Should she feels she has to have a boyfriend too. We have expectations in place for what our girls are to expect from a spouse in life. He fits very few, so I told her she needs to set guidelines because she is the prize. He’s a prick kid that has been given everything he has and expects her to placate to his whims. I’m getting pissed thinking about the douche.
When my daughter was dating, I somehow was always managing to be cleaning my AR15 and handguns. Never had an issue with them.

Just watched JJ's media availability.

JJ: "... last week, all in the past." [subtle grin]
Media: "You like the leadership on this team?"
JJ: [face changes stone cold] "I *AM* the leader. So, we're going to get this right. I'm not worried about anything else ..."

Me: [chills]

Bring me more like this. Ownership. Drive. Determination. Confidence. Attitude.

Success.

This attitude is why this guy wears out DBs, catches hail mary's, and wins games. Bring this team with you JJ.

I sure hope he is a leader, but I have never put much faith in those that say that they are the leader. I would have more faith if half a dozen other players said that JJ is the leader. Just sayin.

Exactly. I’ve said it before, Vol fans are loud when there’s something to be excited about. But we disappear when things don’t go so well. Sometimes I feel like there are very few of us cheering.

They don’t disappear, they start loudly issuing recriminations on talk radio, Twitter, and message boards.

I’d be interested to know what other fan bases woulld be doing after the last ten years we have lived through.

This fan base amazes me. We are starving for success.....

Also, in regards to JG. I seldom trash players. I don't begrudge those that do. The players balance school and practice all year long. They make the sacrifice to perform for us on those few Saturdays in the fall. They leave their blood and sweat on the field so we may be entertained. Having said that, I think JG is a good kid that tries his best. Their are a lot of things that go into being a good quarterback. I just think he's lacking in some of those areas. Maybe having been coaches by Butch's crew or even last year by Helton, may have stunted his growth, I don't know, but I just don't think he's got it in him to lead a team. He may do well at a place like bama where you're not expected to be the main attraction. I hope he pulls it out and makes me a liar because I genuinely like and appreciate the kid.
