I’ve been to practice on occasion yes. But until about a year ago I lived in BMs area coincidentally. So I had the luxury of being able to watch pretty much through his HS career. How have you gotten to watch them both play live on several occasions? Are you at practice everyday, for all of the sessions. You must provide your "stats".
So you have watched one in college and one in high school. Soooooooo, apples to bowling ball's. For what it is worth, JG was the number 1 rated dual threat QB in high school. It is harder playing in the SEC than any high school.I’ve been to practice on occasion yes. But until about a year ago I lived in BMs area coincidentally. That’s always possible.Let me offer an alternate viewpoint. JG is not conservative, but his coaches instruct him to take short passes so as not to risk bad mistake. Bad mistake which both JG and BM make consistently when they throw deep. the coaches have obviously seen big red flags in both QBs ability to make correct reads and make consistent throws. This exact same thing happened with Dobbs. the coaches didnt think he was consistently good enough to throw downfield without making horrible reads and tossing game changing interceptions and thus Dobbs became the guy that rarely threw it anywhere but the flats. Not because he wanted to but because his coaches forced it.
No. Auburn and Kentucky were outliers.
I mostly agree with you but even the announcers said that 300 yards throwing would mislead you to believe JG had a good game. The stats were misleading mainly due to the one long throw he made which was mostly the wide receiver running.
The harness was put on JG because the coaches dont trust his abilities. Same as last year.
So let me get this straight. Are you saying, BY FACTUAL NUMBERS, That BM threw for more yards in 10 games than the GOAT himself did in 12?If you want to come closer to comparing JG and BM, apples to apples, then a look at what each produced as a Senior in high school should be helpful. If JG is under a harness by his college Coaches, it looks like his high school Coaches did the same, or this lack of production is how he has always played.
For comparison, looked up Senior high school stats for: Trevor Lawrence, Jarrett Guarantano, Brian Maurer, JT Shrout, and Harrison Bailey as a Junior.
Playing in Georgia: TL in 12 games, 3290 passing yds., 41 tds., 1 int.
Playing in New Jersey: JG in 10 games, 1481 passing yds., 11 tds., 3 int.
Playing in FL: BM in 10 games, 3572 passing yds., 34 tds., 12 int.
Playing in CA: JTS in 12 games, 3064 passing yds., 27 tds., 25 int.
Playing in GA (as a Junior): HB in 9 games, 2809 passing yds., 29 tds., 6 int.
One has never passed for many yards or scored many touchdowns, and that was against New Jersey competition.

Are you saying that WHILE throwing for more yards, he did it against competition from the the known #1 hotbed in the country (Florida)?
Are you saying that he leads this board despite having no o line to protect him while he did it?
Good thing this list didn’t include all purpose yards huh? Otherwise LittleVol and 1vol8 May look like they knew what they were talking about. Can’t have that.
I’ll try and copy and paste both comments per your request. Might even add a little something.Just the facts, ma’am.Yes, these numbers are eye-opening. Would hope everyone could see them. As you have seen Maurer play, would like to request that you describe his high school and Elite 11 play, here, as you did in comment #161 in thread Pruitt’s qb reasoning, and why Pruitt is possibly not playing him, as you did in comment #153.
Some have said the Coaches have so much time and effort invested in JG, that they hate to give up on him, that, and pride, and that Pruitt wants to win with defense.
I totally believe if Pruitt put in Maurer, it would lift the whole team. When the offense can score, the defense gets pumped with energy both physically and emotionally.
GO VOLS!
I've seen the running half of that dual threat.......Wheeeew Dogggggies that kid has some wheels, and the downfield part of the threat we ll lots not even go thereSo you have watched one in college and one in high school. Not sure what the scenario is but his reputation is damn sure tarnished after the the last three games he's coachedMy guess is that Jeremy Pruitt was looking at these very numbers when he laughed and tapped his fingers in his best Mr Burns impression when deciding to purposefully and inexplicable bench the clearly better quarterback in favor of a guy he didn't recruit from an offensive system he didn't design.
Likewise I'm sure he shouted down the brand new OC who's a proven offensive guru whom, by your logic must have been lobbying to start Maurer immediately in spite of the fact that he just stepped foot on campus, because my God, did you see his high school stats?
I'm positive that Pruitt put all the evidence aside and decided to risk his reputation and coaching career on the possible loss to Georgia State because all that makes total sense.
The point of the HS stats is to show potential that most don’t think he has. A lot of you guys keep selling this kid short and have no idea what’s sitting right on our sidelines. My guess is that Jeremy Pruitt was looking at these very numbers when he laughed and tapped his fingers in his best Mr Burns impression when deciding to purposefully and inexplicable bench the clearly better quarterback in favor of a guy he didn't recruit from an offensive system he didn't design.

I think you may or may not be half right. “Jeremy Pruitt” May not so much “his staff”. One was quoted saying just the opposite of what you’ve heard from the defensive minded HC. Weinke used words such as “it factor” and “neither have throw many ints”. So who do we believe?None of us is selling him short. Jeremy Pruitt and his staff have made their assessment and clearly, no matter how good his high school stats were, he was not good enough to beat out JG as the starting QB which is the only assessment that matters. That speaks louder than anything else.
Post makes zero sense. Team quit because he only cares about “his” guys , and because he plays JG (Jones Guy) over the 2 QB’s he recruited???????So I haven’t heard receivers really speak highly of JG. I haven’t heard his team really referencing him as a leader or the coaching staff. As a 3rd year QB I think that’s kind of strange.
Pruitt has come in and really made a point to play the guys who perform and he’s continuing to start JG. I think the team knows what we know about JG and they’re not buying in to him. He handicaps the offense and it makes Pruitt look like a hypocrite who is playing favorites.
I think that plus playing guys like Jeremy Banks at linebacker (a guy who’s never played snaps at LB and just started practicing with the group) and To’o(a true freshman who’s been on campus for 4 months) shows the players that Pruitt only cares about his guys. I think it caused a divide amongst the team and that’s why I think those boys didn’t rally together when they were getting hit in the mouth. Also explains why Pruitt didn’t bother trying to rule them up cause he knows how they feel already.
Going to be a long year fellas
