I think we turn it around and win 6

Totally agree. Only wins I see are UTC and possibly Kentucky. That’s it folks. If we shock BYU that’s 3-9 this year. Does Pruitt get one more shot or does Phil pull the plug??

If we play Kentucky with the same level of effort by the players and the staff that we saw on Saturday, we will get trucked by them.

We will win minimum of 6. Many teams have suffered embarrassing losses like this and recovered. We have even recovered from similar situations.

Don't give up yet. Let's see what happens this week before doom, despair, and agony.

None of those teams put zero effort into the game.

I don't know if we win 6, but I do think if we continue to play young guys,in addition to the very few upperclassmen who have the heart to play, we'll improve as the season goes.
YEah...wait till next year already, and we've not played our second game yet...but you're correct, get young guys in there. Why must we have a perpetually young team?

At this point, it’s very possible we may end up 0-12 if we continue to give this kind of effort.

No circumstance that Pruitt gets fired this year, unless it's for something he did off the football field. But, let's just say that Pruitt's as dumb as a rock, and deserves the type of internship that Butch has...He does have coaches who have been successful at other places. I could see missing the mark on a few of them, but how can all of them be bad? Why do coaches all of the sudden turn bad when they come to UT? I'm not talking Bill Belichick stuff...just basic assignment football. Pruitt may have taken the "hands off" approach too soon.

I've said all along that I thought we'd go 6-6 with the possibility of getting 7 wins on the year in the bowl game. I still think that's possible.

It's amazing how quickly so many people just give up. If this team can grow a backbone and fight, then we will be fine. IF not...I don't wanna think about it.

The east is
The East is so weak this year and i think our talent on the roster will start to show up soon. Recruiting rankings dont lie just hang in their men.
weak....hmmmm wonder who contributes the most to this?

It has been this way since we hired Bob Shoop. What has been the constant since that time, we still have players on the roster now that Butch recruited. I really believe that the guys after Dobbs and those guys came into college during a horrible culture change under Butch. And they are still here and have gone thru countless staff changes. Their world or chance to go to next level has been eliminated.

Just think about the meltdown in the second half of the 2016 season. What did we do that offseason. Danced around OC hires and then ended up promoting Larry Scott. Sometimes the effects of horrible actions happen long after instead of immediately afterwards. This program needs flushing.

Huh? That's way too optimistic.

If this team brings that level of execution and effort in every game this year, they might beat UTC. Maybe. It'd be a close game.

So 3-9 or worse and he STILL gets a 3rd year?? Recruiting will be nonexistent by December if this team finishes 2-10. There won’t be a 2020 class....

And what if recruiting doesn't fall off? What would your response be? What would recruits know or not know that apparently the Fans do?

Dude you must still be drinking from Labor Day.....no way.
In fact, name your bet $$ amount and we will give it to a 3rd party to hold. I have ZERO confidence of 3 wins in a row.
3 wins in a row and I take back every negative thing Ive ever said about the team and coaches and Ill make a website called JG4Heisman.com

I think there's been a pretty significant checking out of most of the upperclassmen on this team. I think that started to show up late last year and was pretty evident in the game on Saturday. If the team wasn't already so thin, I bet Pruitt would have already cut a ton of these guys loose.

There's no way Pruitt is as dumb as a rock when it comes to the game, especially on defense. You don't get to be DC at the places he's been DC at if he's a football idiot. I'm starting to wonder if he is just really, really bad at some of the softer skills of being a head coach - perhaps his assistants are all out of sorts and not on the same page, perhaps he does a very bad job at getting players to buy into his system and he wants to do things. There's a big difference between being an assistant and being the head guy. The team certainly appears to have a lack of drive, emotion, and motivation.

I agree with everything you mention, but the flushing...at least right now. No doubt, there's long term effects from bad decisions. The true confusion for me is that you could look and listen to CBJ and his hires, and just know it's not going to end well...Pruitt on the other hand, I think, knows his stuff, is tough minded, and also seemingly has hired a really good staff. If Fulmer thinks this is the right group of coaches, he's going to have to hunker down.

For me, this game lined up like the end of last year...how in the world do you beat Auburn and KY, then lose so badly to Vandy... How do you have a group of players, most of which are in Year two of S/C program and expectations, line up and perform like a high school team? I'm truly at a loss to remotely explain it

I don't think its wrong or unquestionable to be baffled at what happened. But I think the aftermath/response is the best identifier. And we all saw Jordan Murphy's tweet. Now I don't think 1 represents all or vice versa. I do think that Auburn and Kentucky, we had some seniors that played really well in their last season such as Kyle Phillips, Quarte Sapp, Alexis Johnson, and Kongbo (Auburn Game) and some Freshmen like Bryce Thompson who simply made plays. Add in Jennings and Chandler (as usual / they don't lay down) making plays and we just had a good game. Auburn made mistakes as well that allowed us to hang in, but go back and look at the playmakers in that game. They were Seniors and Freshmen for the most part.

For Kentucky game, you had Abernathy, Phillips, and a few others make solid defensive showings in one of their final home games.

And when you look back at the likes of Kyle Phillips, Kongbo, Abernathy and some others, they weren't going to roll over in their last season in orange and white for some games. Add in some of the new freshmen playing well and making plays and that equaled some success.

I just don't think consistency is something we will see in the first two seasons given the cultural issues with the roster and locker room.
