There is certainly a disconnect between our players and coaches. It’s been the same as the last two games last season. Our veterans have just given up on this staff in the last 3 games.

I don’t know where it started but I feel the play in the Kentucky game when Osborne intercepted a pass late and then got too cute by lateraling the ball around rather than just taking a knee or going out of bounds is certainly part of it.

Pruitt went nuts on him on the sidelines, and embarrassed him on TV. Osborne later transferred to UNCC but this team has as lack the intensity and effort since then. Especially, when things start to go bad.

It’s just a theory about the veteran players on this team, maybe, they don’t want to play for Pruitt. Maybe, they would rather Butch never got fired. But, many certainly have their own agenda rather than playing for the T on their helmets, they guy next to them and their coaches.

Maybe, Pruitt should have Inky or Al Wilson talk to them before every game about the privilege of wearing those Orange Jerseys and playing in Neyland’s Stadium. Because, that was a dream of mine growing up, but I wasn’t good enough.

Because, it’s painfully obvious that many aren’t willing to give their all everyday to be a Vol!
Those guys are almost all rotten to the core competively.

Everyone bashing JG. 30 points, or even 23 should have beaten that team. JG did not play defense. How can you give 38 points to a team like that! Our defensive geniuses coaching staff is not the best in the country. Our front 4 were getting pushed out on every play. Coaching did not properly adjust at half time for the different looks that we weren't expecting. etc, etc.
But if he had more moxie the defense would line up correctly, tackle better, and not get caught with too many/too few players on the field 🙄

I think JG has been David Carr’d at this point.

He’s just been hit so much that he has zero confidence in his line and can’t play the position like he should. Idk how good he ever could have been but I think the rotating door of offensive cooirdinators and the embarrassment of offensive lines he’s had in front of him has literally ruined him.

We don’t need Thompson back anywhere near the program. People that volatile who are too mentally and emotionally unstable to go a year and a half without domestic incidents are nothing but trouble. Good football player, bad person who will likely embarrass whatever university gives him his next chance. We were his second chance and he blew it. Sucks to lose our best DB, but the kid is trouble.

SO let me get this straight. This kid gets into an argument with his girlfriend and yells at her. Threatens her even, but never touches her. And this is your justification for labeling him a bad person . I am sure glad that I do not have to deal with you judging my life.

Great, you just reminded me of what the Titans will look like this year with Mariota.

Copy and paste this post the last 3 years...
What else is there to say that isn’t the same bitching in a different language? We suck right now and i’ve said my fair share on that, but we have a lot of games left, so I choose to look forward.

It is my hope that these highly paid coaches will say we f*cked up yesterday by not taking g GSU seriously. Let's get our starting 5 OL.. starting LBs and DL. We will run the ball. That will be our identity. Replace JG....

Watch his coaches show. Pruitt said they were out coached and out played. He was extremely humbled.

GSU took the bus ride up from Atlanta. They were quick, athletic, experienced and built up as a program in the shadow of the Vols. UT staff treated it as an exhibition game to build game ready depth. You look at the intangibles and GSU coming on in the 2nd half is no great mystery.

None of those teams were playing an 11 year old team with a 2-10 record the previous year. You can chose to believe they will be alright all you want. You don't like my opinion that's alright. I don't agree with yours.
The problem is they didn't just get beat. They got pushed around on both sides of the ball. We got outplayed and out coached. We looked worse than we did in Pruitt's first year. In a year where most teams make their biggest improvement we looked worse. It's just more of the same thing we have seen the last 10 years.
Can they get it together? Maybe, but from what I've saw they don't want to.

This is actually worse than anything we’ve seen in the last ten years.

No it won’t and it shouldn’t. Regardless of what happens the rest of the season, this game will forever stain Pruitts HC career.

Dan Mullen lost to South Alabama. If Pruitt can 6-7 games and go to a bowl, it would obviously help recruiting and be much better for the future of the program.
