Lot of that happening...It isn't helping. I'm plenty mad at Pruitt and his staff..hell..pretty much everybody on the team not named Jauan Jennings, and we don't need people making isht up to be even more upset about.Just watched the show, the actual quote
"Where you are as a fb player, as a coach, as a program.
Doesn't help Pruitt at all but just further proof of the "information" being passed right now.
Can't go as far as Fulmer being coach now but agree on the other stuff. The pool was completely different by the time he took over and after Kirby, many folks were seeing the Pruitt hire as smart. Not sure I agree here.
Even if Pruitt continues to fall on his face I still want Fulmer here. He picked his HC, gave him all the resources he wanted and let him build the program his way. That’s exactly what you want your AD to do.
On the other hand, I’d be totally fine with Fulmer as the HC again.
How in the absolute F does this happen?
We don’t need Thompson back anywhere near the program. People that volatile who are too mentally and emotionally unstable to go a year and a half without domestic incidents are nothing but trouble. Good football player, bad person who will likely embarrass whatever university gives him his next chance. We were his second chance and he blew it. Sucks to lose our best DB, but the kid is trouble.True. I don’t understand how the pitch man was never covered. Made no sense. I also don’t understand keep Burrell out there and not putting Kenneth George Jr. out in the perimeter who weighs more and can probably get off of a block.
When our coaching staff goes back and reviews the game, they are going to see who was doing it right and who wasn’t and I almost guarantee you those people won’t be playing. We definitely need Bryce Thompson back for BYU.
How in the absolute F does this happen?
where in the hell do you see 5 wins? if GSU can beat us Chatt and UAB surely can
Going on a rant here IDGAF if you read it or not I'm just livid.
First from the actual game in section U. From the beginning of the game we looked bigger and faster than last year. I was starting to get a little more confident. Solomon cleared. Trey cleared. Yeah, we are going to bury these guys. But from kickoff something was off. I saw ZERO passion. I saw NO hype. There was NO comraderie. Quite literally the only two players I saw with a bit of emotion were Henry T and Cimaglia. The sidelines were DEAD.
I realized the first half was not the end of the world, I saw the other teams struggling. First game jitters no biggie. I expected the second half to come on strong. But nope, they drive right down the field and score on us. Again, no energy. Complete lack of care. That's when I started to worry. I'm starting to wonder why are we subbing 3 linemen almost every single play offense and defense (they're all trash, DL in particular). JG looks extremely uncomfortable in and out of the pocket. Just not a leader or really an SEC worthy QB. He's got no touch on passes at all. At least Gray, Cimaglia, Anderson, JJ, Chandler, and Henry T looked good. Genuinely not impressed with anyone else. In fact they were unimpressive. No one looked like they wanted to be there, coaches included.
All games we lose hurt. But this is far different. We have tried for a decade only to make things WORSE. There is quite literally no where to go from here. Fans, recruits, and media have seen that we can not get out of the hole we dug. It's no longer just a down year. Nope, they all are starting to understand this is just how the new Tennessee will be from now on.
The seats will empty.
The media will humiliate us.
The players will transfer.
The Recruiting, lifeblood of a program, will be battles with G5 teams.
Unless a miracle happens and we turn it around, there's simply not a reason to play for Tennessee anymore unless you're a die hard fan like we are.
Nb4 tldr
It's very simply because they hire on the cheap but pay way more in buyouts than Bama does for Saban.Greg Robinson was a good Mack defensive coordinator and an abject failure as a head coach. Some guys are quality assistants and no more. It doesn't mean they can't coach, it does mean they can't run a program. It is possible this is Pruitt. The cluster of guys that UT has hired as head coach since Fulmer is mind boggling.
There is certainly a disconnect between our players and coaches. It’s been the same as the last two games last season. Our veterans have just given up on this staff in the last 3 games.
I don’t know where it started but I feel the play in the Kentucky game when Osborne intercepted a pass late and then got too cute by lateraling the ball around rather than just taking a knee or going out of bounds is certainly part of it.
Pruitt went nuts on him on the sidelines, and embarrassed him on TV. Osborne later transferred to UNCC but this team has as lack the intensity and effort since then. Especially, when things start to go bad.
It’s just a theory about the veteran players on this team, maybe, they don’t want to play for Pruitt. Maybe, they would rather Butch never got fired. But, many certainly have their own agenda rather than playing for the T on their helmets, they guy next to them and their coaches.
Maybe, Pruitt should have Inky or Al Wilson talk to them before every game about the privilege of wearing those Orange Jerseys and playing in Neyland’s Stadium. Because, that was a dream of mine growing up, but I wasn’t good enough.
Because, it’s painfully obvious that many aren’t willing to give their all everyday to be a Vol!
Yeah, put an unproven QB in his first game on the road in the Swamp. That's never happened in UT history, right?
