Disappointing loss, but fan reactions are embarrassing

Sure, we should have not lost to Ga State, but there is no excuse for the complete melt down by Tennessee fans. Support the team and staff as they both grow and improve. It starts with good recruiting classes and building depth which Pruitt is doing. I was disappointed with Saturday’s outcome but I am a graduate and VFL and expect this team to improve.
Building depth? Yes hopefully someday we can have a roster that can compete with the likes of Ga St. They're deep, talented and have a rich tradition dating back all the way to 2009.

Nothing short of every Vol fan showing up to work nude in Orange and White body paint could be more embarrassing than what the team and staff did yesterday.

I mean, a loss like that can get into your head. Committed recruits, young players and new coaches all have to be second guessing themselves.

Nah, the reaction was normal under the circumstances. Yesterday was one of the most shameful losses in our history. Fans overreacted to one good recruiting class and the addition of Chaney. Typical for fans. They do it every year and that's not uncommon in this sport. It's why they're called "fans".

As for players improving, I have no doubt the youth on this team will grow and get better. The problem is with the veteran players. They have the experience, but that's all they bring to the table. We've no choice but to take a deep breath and wait for the youngsters to mature and take over. Gonna be painful and it's gonna take time. We've also got to recognize the need for more than a single class. We just need to turn this roster over and stop taking transfers and juco players.

I kept expecting them to improve from 2008 till the Florida game of 2017. That’s when I gave up and just accepted our reality as Vol fans. Not only is Tennessee bad, they’re not even close to being competitive for an SEC title.

It’s year 2 and in no way should we EVER lose to Georgia State. That’s not growing and that’s not improvement.
I know Clemson is glad they did not melt down the second year of Dabo. Check out what he inherited, a 9 win season first year then to 6 wins the second.

This is year freaking TWO!!! Huge improvement should have been obvious from last year but they s$&@ the bed AGAIN. Maybe it’s becoming clearer that Pruitt was the wrong hire. Time will tell.... inexcusable!!! FIX THIS or fans won’t come to any home games this year!!

Their first loss that year was an OT loss at Auburn. You know....the National Champion that year. All of their losses were to P5 schools that went to bowl games except South Florida, the team that beat them in their bowl game. Also you said he "inherited" a 9 win first season..."; he coached the last half of the 2008 season, going 4-3 counting the bowl game. He won the division and went to the ACC Championship his first full year.

So again, please stop these stupid comparisons; if Pruitt had won the East last year we wouldn't be "melting down".

The worst 4 classes in our last 30 years of recruiting would mop the floor with Georgia St with only a modicum of good coaching.

Fans who prerend great talent is going to sign up after yesterday and/or that it will cure the problem are fooling themselves.

Duke is a wayyyyy better team tan GaSt. They are coached well and have better players. If they beat Bama the Tide fans would implode. But it would have been more acceptable than this crap. This is not a loaded team. Not an AppSTate. This was a crap team with a crap program.

You lost me right there....losing to GA State is not improvement. Losing to a 2-10 team from the SunBelt is not improving. Getting beat by vanilla play calling is not improvement...sir, if you are calm, cool and collected by what was on the field yesterday, you are accepting mediocrity....no, you are accepting less than mediocre performance, have extremely low expectations, and some would say you could be considered part of the problem with the fan base.

You be blind and follow the team off the bridge. It is our God given right as Vols fans to get mad when crap is placed on the field. I will go on national TV and say the same shat that I am saying on here. No one in Knoxville cares as long as the profits are up.

Seriously, you people just need to stop. After the last decade plus and the debacle yesterday, fans have every right to find this unacceptable.

There you go using common sense and you know that's not allowed here!!!!

If this can base isn't firing coaches or calling for firings then they aren't happy!! Yeah losing suks but yesterday was embarrassing I get it, but ya know sometimes you get what you deserve and this fan base needs to realize this isn't the glory days of the '90's and we've heard nothing but complaining since then. They complain and get what they want then they complain some more and want something different!!

Patience is virtue and we Volunteers have none. This is why we don't n can't have nice things. So yeah let's go ahead and fire the whole staff and start over and see where that gets us.

Doubling down on stupid today?

Yeah, Clemson not melting down over a 6-6 2nd year with Dabo.....after he won his divison his first year is TOTALLY the same situation here.

How about if Clemson had finished 5-7 the year before and laid eggs against 2 division opponents to miss a bowl and started the next year losing to Troy at home.....yeah I think Clemson fans would have melted down then.
