JG is not an SEC QB

I think you have to keep them honest with downfield throws, but I have zero faith he can make those throws. We just need to plan for the future, and this guy isn’t it.

If Pruitt sticks with JG its going to cost him his job, we can't win many games with him at qb. We should have put up 40 plus points today.

I love the university too. Have my diploma on the wall of my office. But the trend has been 10+ years now. It’s not just about this game. This game was likely the final nail on the coffin. We are Indiana.

You’re not Indiana, but you’re also not Bama. There is plenty of room between dreg and elite. Fan base needs to be realistic.

We have to try something different. Period. We will not make any progress with a QB who is only capable of hitting check down WRs. When was the last time JG hit a receiver in stride? Why is every route a hitch or comeback route? Why does he NEVER hit a quick slant? He just isn’t dynamic and he certainly can’t keep plays alive with athleticism.

Sure he is.

He just may be the worse one in the history of the SEC... or our coaches are. Hard to say.

Not his fault. Dude’s had to learn a hundred different systems in his tenure here.

In a perfect world, JG would be the backup QB. Trouble is; we don't have a standout starting quarterback.

We don't really know what we have, I don't think either of our back up have taken a snap in a real game. I have seen some very good practice players which cannot do it at game speed. JG is obviously a good practice player, but not at real game speed. Time to at least see what one of the others can do in a game. Perfect opportunity today when the game was out of hand to put in one of them and see what they could do, I don't understand why they were not given a chance today.

The stats today show what kind of QB he is. Over 300 yards and 65% comp. He lost to an FBS team. He has no leadership qualities and can’t make throws that help his receiver. He hit JJ with a pass for a 1st down with nobody close. JJ had to adjust and slipped down. Stat shows a competition for 1st down. Reality is bad throw that cost 15 extra yards or more. Stats don’t mean everything. Prefer winning and JG will not ever be the reason Tenn wins a game. If not for the last drive when Ga St in prevent, he would have had 60 less yds and one less TD. No offense leadership and no defense leadership today. He is what his stats say his is. A losing QB

Yup

Watching highlights of Texas... good QB there, and they said good things are in store for Texas, and that everything the O does goes through this QB.

Well... that pretty much is true, unless you have a Hershel Walker in the backfield. So, we have JG back there, and everything the Vols do goes through him... and I don't see that as the path forward for this team.

Economics is my wheelhouse, actually. What is a boycott going to accomplish? What is the end goal of a boycott.
Is this a serious question? UT administrators' salaries depend on a successful football program because it funds a substantial portion of the university's operations. If that massive source of funding suddenly dried up, they would be forced to re-evaluate how they prioritize said football program, specifically how they approach hiring a head coach for said program. You may not have noticed, but there is enough evidence in at this point to declare safely that they have a pattern, dating back eleven years now, of hiring under-qualified coaches for this position so they can save money compared to what other schools with our level of revenue, and many with less than our level of revenue, are paying for their head coaches.

Whereas conversely, if fans continue to patronize the product that at this point has well-eclipsed the point of being total and utter unwatchable crap, the UTAD will merely continue smugly along, making their big salaries as each day one of the most storied football programs in Division I history is driven further and further into a cavern beneath the ditch (we would have to improve significantly at this point just to get back up to being in the ditch).

What’s funny is all of these people freaking out about this game will completely change their tune with a beat down of Florida. That’s how fickle Volnation is.

Yeah this is bad, let’s not talk about firing the Head Coach just yet though.

Look on the bright side, if this keeps up throughout the season, we will be having another super exciting coaching search in the near future. Let’s just not throw him under the bus yet. Good spirit in the fan base helps the team

Beat Florida? How much crack have you smoked today bud? We just got beat for 60 minutes by a Sunbelt team that was 2-10 last year. What in the world makes you think we are going to beat Florida. Just how can you possibly believe we are better than any SEC team on our schedule.

They all quit on us a long time ago, we have just been ignorant enough to hang on

The beauty of it is new kids come in in March and some of the quitters are done in December, so if what you say is true, the culture can change. Coaches change. Players change. Admin changes. The fans are the one constant and we have an effect on the culture when we act like spoiled bitches.
