Yes I've gotten steaming angry before but have NEVER threatened to hit a female. I've also never made a threat to "shoot up" some place. This is not the 1st time this has happened with him....eventually he will snap and physically assault the girlfriend. I hope she has the sense to break away from him. If that's my daughter and he hits her, jail will be the least of his concerns. Go Vols.Have you ever gotten mad at someone and yelled at them in the heat of the moment. Had he actually hit her, all bets are off. He took his anger out on an inanimate object. Speaking as someone who can have a temper that boils over. Yelling is sometimes a way to release the anger without getting physical with a person. I have punched a hole or two in a wall in times past. I know he is an athlete, but still a human.
I just think it’s flimsy at best. Especially since his girlfriend said she doesn’t recall him saying this and the one witness just “heard” it but wasn’t actually standing there to witness it. I’m not saying he didn’t say it at all, but to prove it, I just don’t think it will happenIt was in the reporting. We all know it was likely a heat of the moment thing, but that phrase might really cost him.
Actually, sadly that's not true. Just because charges get dropped does not necessarily out him in the clear. The school investigation in administrative and completely separate from the police matter. Having charges dropped would help his case not put him in the clear. If the charges are dropped then why should he be punished? Some of you are so quick to judge without knowing details of what actually happened. His GF, the only direct witness said she never heard him threaten the school. One person said they heard someone threaten the school but didn't see them and somehow was able to identify Thompson as the person who said it, do you really think that would hold up in a court of law?
If charges are dropped I don’t think schools should investigate further. It’s not their job to do that. That’s what the police/investigators do. I’m not saying that’s how it works now but schools have no business doing criminal investigations.Actually, sadly that's not true. That's just dumb. If three say he didn't say that and one did say he said that, then go with the minority??

I don’t think they are qualified to be investigators in the first placeI disagree. If prosecutors drop the charges that simply means they could not prove the case beyond reasonable doubt - a very high standard. A university does not use such a standard and can expel students for actions that are even completely legal. The university can use a different standard and burden of proof. I would think university proceedings would more closely relate to civil trials which are decided on a "preponderance of the evidence" which is a "more likely than not" threshold as compared to "beyond reasonable doubt".
There was only one said witness who supposedly heard the "Shoot up school"... if the girl who he was arguing with didn't hear it....then it probably didn't happen.
BT said he wants to meet you at the Waffle House. How big a boy are ya?Yes I've gotten steaming angry before but have NEVER threatened to hit a female.
