Dude the report says neither saw him do these things, they heard someone yell, now whether or not they can ID him on voice alone is a bit of a stretch hell I can’t ID my own brothers voice from a distance away and I’ve known his voice for 30 years, to say that two people who have known this kid for maybe a year could reliably ID him on voice alone is absurd and you seem awfully hard up to see this kid kicked off the team.

Fact is if the school tries to kick him out without physical proof they will have a lawsuit on their hands, and they don’t want that.

Didn't say they were lying unlike you I'm not making facts out of things idk. It's ridiculous you are 100 percent sure that they are telling the truth. Just because they told the officers that on the report doesn't make it true. Just like him saying he didn't say it doesn't make it true. There are a thousand scenarios that could've happened where he actually never said it. Fact of the matter is there is no way to know unless you were there.

You’re right. The police went to the wrong stairwell. There happened to be 2 couples shouting and ripping a gate off its hinges at the same time that night.

Wouldn’t be the first time a teammate lied about another or are you forgetting about the teammate that lied about AJ Johnson and others threatening him

Witnesses saying they overheard Thompson threatening her, and one witness saying he threatened to, “Shoot up the school.” They also stated they heard a loud crashing sound in the stairwell, presumably when the gate was ripped off.

Also, this little gem. Another witness heard the slapping threat and the crash, and another heard yelling and the school threat -- neither saw Thompson but ID'd him. (They never saw him but somehow ID’d him - Off of voice obviously because you know that’s so easy)

Why do young men continuously put theirselves in these situations, I know how college is, hell I know how UT is but good grief have enough sense to stay out of these situations. It seems to be like always a he said they said situation but regardless of what actually happened stay away from this drama because in the end the only one that will face any consequences are them. I know kids will be kids and they have a life to live but they are given an opportunity to better themselves and more times than not they blow it on some drama filled crap. Hopefully everything goes ok for him and he can chalk it up to a life lesson because life ain't going to get any easier as he goes.

So wait a minute, did he actually hit anyone or not? I thought assault involved actual laying of hands on another person. Because if assault involves just words then every third grader has assaulted someone

Yeah. Because you have done so many of these investigations right?

Oh wait you haven’t. Do you know what happens when someone makes a threat against a school or anything else such as the President and so forth?

They are investigated, their families are interviewed, the subject is interviewed, etc. to see if the person actually has the motive, means, and ability to conduct said attack.

They are not instantly thrown in jail and they are not arrested. The only way to be arrested for that is for there to be probable cause that the individual actually had the means, motive, and ability to carry out the action.

You’re the one saying two UT athletes buddy, either it was UT athletes or it was a teammate, apparently you haven’t figured that out. The police report also said the people ID’d him but never saw him do anything.

Now we are to assume that two random UT athletes who never saw Thompson do anything but heard yelling and then ID’d him on voice even though they may not really be around him that much? We’re going to take their word over the guy who says he didn’t say and the girl who was having the argument with him and couldn’t recall him saying he was gonna shoot up the school? Nah man that’s a jump too far.

You seriously need to take a break chief cause this ain’t the hill to die on.

No. I’m not. Please tell me, oh great one, if they didn’t actually ID him.. why was he even arrested for DA considering it was based on his threats made against his gf, that didn’t happen obviously, just like the shooting remark, since no one saw him say it.
