If he made the shoot up the school comment, I don't see how you can let him stay in school. Imagine the liability and headlines if you don't and he does.

It seems a lot of people are reacting one way or the other. Just kind of dumb imo to take a hard line stance one way or the other till more information comes out. Women can be vindictive and football players can be like Maurice Clarett as well. Too early to tell definitively what happened.

Price saying this is a minor deal certainly sounds good for Thompson. I do think that “shooting up the school” sounds like the worst possible thing someone could say right now. Almost too appropriate if you wanted someone arrested and their life ruined.

Probably because they heard the commotion and his threats and walked around the corner and saw the only guy in that area and it was the same voice? Not hard to figure out.

Not in Tennessee criminal law. There is no crime of “battery” in Tn. Unless he had a weapon or his fist pulled back there is no imminent threat. It’s actions not words for Assault. The words may help define the intent.

This all gets handled quick and easy with a decent lawyer.

Been a LEO in florida for 14 years, and yes its changed. (At least down here) we started doing more and more arrests for things like this to more or less protect the victim and/or cya the agency. Back in the day it was "Do one of you have a place to go and cool off for the night?" ......and inevitably every now and then you'd get the primary aggressor that would come back and do something physically stupid to the victim or even worse permanently injure or even kill the victim sometimes. On a positive note, (at least here in Florida), all the times I've seen someone charged with ASSAULT (this is verbal threats to a victim with ability to carry out actions and placing the victim in imminent fear for their safety) I have never seen the state attorney pick up the charges unless there was already an no contact order or injunction already in place or some kind of extensive history of domestic violence arrests.......ergo........

Hopefully the state refuses to pick up the charges and/or the victim refuses to cooperate (happens ALL THE TIME) and Thompson runs some stairs, attends an anger management class, maybe sits out for GA State and he's back for BYU!!!!

BYUs QB completed something like 22/23 passes in their bowl game. They’re a less than a touchdown underdog In their opener against a top 15 team. I think we’re less than a 5 point favorite against them—-at home. Saying we don’t need him is absurd.

This. But that is the hell of it. Did he even say such a thing? In this , day, the accusation is ALL that matters. And here, it is some words typed up by (who knows who), on a device and instantly broadcast to the world. It is like the situation with Schiano, where many of us intuited that UT would immediately be linked with the PSU mess. Tragic situation.

My opinion I think we win the BYU game by 10 with or without Bryce in the lineup. Warren Burrell sounds like he can hold his own out there

There is already an article in USA Today about it. This article says it was a very load argument in which Bryce Thomson threatened to "slap the **** out of you" and "Shoot up the university"? The vandalism involved a gate wherever they were that he basically ripped off the wall. No actual physical contact to the girl and bystanders basically called the police to investigate the argument.
