When was the last time a UT qb came out as a junior? Shuler? And everyone blasted it saying he came out too early...and they were right. QBs rarely come out after their junior years for a good reason and JG certainly isn't good enough to break that mold.

But he's a RS Junior with (hopefully) this being his 3rd season starting in 8+ games.

The Air Raid QBs rarely get drafted, regardless of their video game numbers though. If anything him being drafted points to how bad last year's class was and yet 11 QBs were drafted. Not to mention the number who got contracts to camp.
Air Raid QBs got drafted #1 overall the last two seasons. Chiefs drafted one 10th overall in 17 and he’s considered the future of football...they’ve come a long way.

Yeah, 2 in the last 2 decades bucks that trend for sure. ;)

You've derailed the point, QBs with the right measurables who have good seasons get drafted that's all. We have a good QB, who hopefully has a killer season so spring there is tons of worry about him leaving for the draft.

They’re not going to be passed over because they operate that system...which much of the NFL is incorporating into their offenses. See? Got us back on the tracks! 😎

and so far he has done NOTHING to warrant being drafted so...

Yo why you hating on JG?!?! Write a book and now you're somebody that it?

His passing numbers last season aren't exactly that far off Dobbs' Junior season when -you- said he "lit it up" now he's done NOTHING? Very confusing...I mean tons of people didn't think Bone would be drafted either *shrug*

I hope JG plays 2 more seasons personally, but I'm just saying he could leave...doesn't mean he will just that he could.

Yeah wasn't sure his exact class. Either way, the talent level in that QB room is pretty freaking impressive.

To add another point, if the speed gains that have been reported are accurate that'll help JG as well. I can't recall who originally reported it, but something like 15 or so 4.4 guys now, compared to like 3 last year. Honestly if you're a legit low 4.5s WR you're already NFL caliber, it's one of the few positions where you don't have to be a real burner to be elite.

Antonio Brown 4.47
A.J. Green 4.5
Julio Jones 4.39
DeAndre Hopkins 4.41
Mike Evans 4.53
JuJu Smith-Schuster 4.54
Michael Thomas 4.55
Davante Adams 4.56
I don't think any CFB has 15 4.4 guys. 4.4 is crazy fast.

I get to go home for 12 days next week, but it’s kind of just sad. Reminds me of where I cannot be for the time being and all I’m leaving behind for the next year. Really not looking forward to it.

At least I’m bringing a friend with me. I’d hate to be there in my own during this
Just saying that I hope everything works out well with the situation that caused you to have to stay in the US.

Couple things from VQ podcast today...

Question was asked how many does UT land...Washington, Gilbert, Sewell and Smalls? Simonton and Price both said at least 1. Price said "100% one and 50% two. Niedermeyer won't strikeout"

They were asked O/U 20 TD passes by JG? All picked the over. Hubbs also shared a stat that everywhere Chaney has been since getting back into CFB after NFL days every single QB he's had has thrown for 20+ TD's in year 1 with him, except for the kid at Ark.
Regarding Chaney. The kid from Arkansas, Brandon Allen, had 20 tds his second year with Chaney. Jacob Eason as a freshman is the only qb Chaney hasn't gotten to 20 tds in a season. He had 16 as a freshman with over 2400 yards in Chaney's first year there. The next year Fromm got 24 and then 30 last year.

Another thing I noticed is 2017 is the only year since 2009 that a TE in a Chaney offense has gotten less than 344 yards. Issaac Nauta only had 114 that season. But I think he was battling injury most of the season and only played 8 games. Had 361 the year before and 430 the year after. He's had a TE go for as many as 562 yards in a season, Rivera in 2012. He's had a lot of tight ends drafted too. Luke Stocker, Mychal Rivera, Hunter Henry and Issaac Nauta were all drafted. The only team he didn't get a TE drafted for was Pitt who had J.P. Holtz get 350 yards his year with Chaney and signed as an undrafted free agent the following year. He is still listed on the Redskins roster though I don't think he ever played a regular season game.

Since 2009 he's only had 2 seasons without a thousand yard rusher as well. 2011 had Poole lead the team with 693 and 2012 had Rajion Neal get 708. But Marlin Lane also had 658 that year so he did get some rushing production. And we all know the rushing production he got at Arkansas and Georgia with 3 different RB tandems getting 1,000 yards each in the same season.

I didn't really look at the WRs but we all know he's done good there too. Just saw yer comment about qbs throwing 20 tds and also heard a comment, I believe from Nieds, about some crazy stat he heard about TE stats in Chaney offenses and got curious. Because I remember people claiming he didn't use TEs enough at Georgia. I'm also curious about how much Chaney has thrown to RBs so maybe I'll look at that next. Seems like he always has, but interested in the stats.

Ok, sure he could leave, but if he does, I seriously doubt he gets drafted unless his numbers this year are ungodly and with this line, that is not happening. They will be improved but you know, tallest midget.

Last I’ll weigh in on the subject. If Guarantano has a sensational statistical season, he’d be foolish not to explore his options. Anything short of that, I think he’s grounded enough to build on what was successful and make a pitch after another season with Chaney.

Looks good on paper for UGA but I'm not as worried as I was at this point last year. I think the wheels will fall off sooner than later. I honestly think Kirby isn't as competent of a head coach as many believe.
He's so incompetent they were a play away from a national title in just year 2? I'd take that sort of incompetency all day here. Please please please let's have it this year lol
