In all due respect Burton you cant quote Basilio on here everyday like he is the most plugged in guy ever for the program then bash Jimmy. They are both the same. They don't know nothing.

Today’s Basilio paraphrased, “Coaches are very high on BJ Ojulari. Believe he’s very underrated and would be a superstar here. And there’s two more coming before kickoff.”

I’m just not getting my hopes up over stuff like that. There’s been so many times where Florida was going through crap and we thought it would really hurt them, game time shows up and we get clapped.
I may be wrong but I can’t remember them losing players like this out of a recruiting class. Not going to show up this year, but will in the next 2-3 years.
Having said that, UTC could dress out for them in Gainsville and give us a game.

People tend to underestimate the number of offensive weapons JG has at his disposal. A better OL, MUCH better playcalling and better decision-making by the QB will make more of a difference than people are allowing. The offense negatively impacted the defense last year. That shouldn't be the case this year.

I feel like we're witnessing the answer to "What if Butch Jones got the Florida job?" in real time. This looks like the beginning of the attrition train that hammered Butch's two highly ranked classes, plus the whole Title IX fiasco.
I’m not ready to go that far. Mullen still won 10 games last year - something we haven’t done in over a decade.

I’m not saying there aren’t a lot of problems they’re dealing with - it’s clear there are and I hope it undermines their program. But he’s got a good class and should win 9 or 10 games again.

SEC is a line of scrimmage league Vols are rebuilding both lines from departures and injuries. They have some talent to rely on but in the SEC everyone has talent. In the SEC you must stop the run and run it whenever you need to run it. It’s a Hugh question mark on both sides of scrimmage.

Vols should win all of their non conference games but the BYU game presents some match up problems because of their experienced offensive line against a young inexperienced UT D line. So I’m not certain UT will win that game.

As far as the conference is concerned, I don’t have a lot of faith the Vols can block anyone enough to finish drives. I’m not saying they will lose every SEC game but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if UT lost to Mizzou, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, SC or Miss State. It’s going to come down to JG and the offense’s ability to put points on the board to get those wins. 7 wins sounds great but looking at the schedule, I have concerns about where they will come from.

The Vols will go as far as JG and the offense will take them this season!
Okay, this is worst case scenario. Think of the best case scenario. What happens is usually somewhere in between.

I almost posted a rant on here yesterday after needing approval from three administrators with six figure salaries to simply spend $45 promoting an Instagram post on our departmental account.

Administrative bloat in universities is just insane now.

Administrative bloat is an issue everywhere.

We have a 10win offense imo

We haven't seen a competent OC since Debord, and that's debatable since we didn't even have a f@#$ing QB coach since Coach Jake left for Tampa Bay.

We know. However, what else is preseason for besides avoiding injuries? Do you not want to hear who is performing well in practice? I am sure a lot of it is coachspeak, but so what?

I listen and what the best for this team but it’s certainly not going to get fixed in one off season. It’s going to take years to get the program where it needs to be to compete in the SEC again. And by that I mean beating the brakes off of everyone and challenging Florida, Georgia and Alabama every year.
Mizzou, Kentucky, SC, and Vanderbilt should look at their schedule every summer and just mark down a loss when the see Tennessee on it.

I like Pruitt and I think he’s going to get the Vols where they need to be, but it ain’t happening overnight unless JG turns it to Josh Dobbs or Tee Martin.

I think we're gonna win every game and will have to see it to believe it on Saturday's to believe otherwise.

Bingo. An experienced play caller helps with that. Instead of 24 some odd runs on first down and vertical passes with a bad OL. Get Ty and Gray in space and let them carve it up.

Tee Martin was not that good. He had a nice TD/INT ratio in 1998 and had a great game against a bad USC team. He could also run. But make no mistake about it, that defense in 1998 won the National Title.

Anybody who thinks Tennessee fans are delusional hypemongers should check out Kentucky fans. They think they're Sherman marching to the top of the SEC, burning down any program that stands in their way. Apparently, Kroger field is the new Death Valley, where SEC dreams come to die.

It’s just like Bobby Bowden says, “everyone is undefeated in the preseason”.

What was Hurd’s stats? I dont think Gray will get the carries, but I’m sure he makes guys miss much easier than Hurd did...
I don't blame Hurd for that. The business of stopping in the backfield for a full second while the quarterback decides whether to hand it off or not was the cause for Hurd to be caught in the backfield most of the time.

Suffered through the VQ Podcast for yall and here are the highlights;

Nothing. It was quite boring. Only interesting note was that Pruitt himself got involved in the BJ race to get us back in it.

Yep. More and more it's apparent that this coaching staff is keeping things very limited to what the 247's and VQ guys see or know with the current team or even the recruits. All those guys are getting from a recruiting standpoint is probably just coming from the recruits themselves.
