you are all ASSES. What did I miss? Why are we mad today?

Chaney “had” to work with the o-line because Friend sux. No more “Sudden Change” being yelled through a microphone. Recruiting isn’t going very well. Solomon still not cleared. BYU fans are going to storm Neyland. Some guy, who is a preacher has a bad attitude. We have a lot going on here to be angry about

Plus it's only Wednesday.

I can't remember which VQ or 24/7 guy it was...they made the comment one time on Sports Talk when a fan called in (probably one of you ASSES) giving them grief about having a recruit unranked or low in stars and the response was telling.

(paraphrasing)
"Our staff has about 2 or 3 people that focus on recruiting evaluations. That's 2 or 3 people for the entire country of HS talent, Alabama alone has three times that many staffers dedicated to it. We're always behind the coaches who host camps, visit recruits all over the country and ONLY focus on watching film and talking to HS coaches. We've only got a handful on staff, and they aren't 100% focused on recruiting."

Honestly, some of these are luck. Some of these are just the result of bad coaching.
it's the combination of the two that have me bewildered.

which one, or both, get addressed by this staff, the fastest?

i thin the sooner the better on getting put in a position to do something that would be perceived as "wow, look what TN did", be it winning one, or more, of the big 3 games, or finishing the season a game, or two, ahead of what people expected.

I think 7 wins, competitive progress and strong coaching would be enough for most of the recruits we want. We'd probably have to win 8-9 games to land some of the longshots. But 7 plus a bowl win and no embarrassing blowouts would have most people feeling pretty good about where the program is heading.

The lines are where players have to step up. It was good to see Chaney get vocal yesterday. We have to have improvement on the OL. But you're right-- injuries and bad bounces would hurt.
And to be honest, a specific win total probably doesn’t matter that much to recruits. It’s all about optics, momentum, and the idea that Tennessee is demonstrably headed in the right direction. Butch recruited really well off of 5-7 and 6-6.
