I'm liking hearing that Shamburger is likely going to be the STAR and on the field often. I get he may not be the right size for Pruitt and maybe he doesn't do things exactly like wanted.

But the dude can ball, he's a Dobbs type in that way. Soon as it's game time he'll make plays.

I also could be wrong, but I expect Banks takes big time advantage of his limited touches this year. He's the type of back that if he can get up to speed he'll be an absolute load to bring down.

Shamburger is like Justin Martin to me. Much legend of his ability, but still waiting to see some substance

Hopefully he can stay out of the doghouse long enough to prove himself

It’s so nice finally having multiple dbs that can play. I literally can’t remember having so many dudes out there at once. We always seem to have one guy and a bunch of decent players to fill the other spots.
When true freshmen are being talked of unseating arguably one of your top 3 defenders from the previous year, you are on your way

Baylen Buchanan gonna redshirt this year? Or medically retire?

Depends on if he thinks he's got a shot at the NFL...I think he's going to try and get back on the field this year though. He has a strong back half of the season and good pro day or combine he can get a shot. I don't think trying to return helps him, if anything next season's secondary is going to be even more competitive.

In regards to Eric Gray, Basilio just said, “The coaches didn’t realize he was this good.” And also that it was important to sign him in the early period because Bama was pushing hard toward the end.
Basilio is the Alex Jones of UT sports talk. Everyone knew he was that good. You don't just win Mr. Football 3 times and just be mediocre.

More to this story,Justin Martin had a huge ego/discipline issue.dude had more pass interference called on him in one game than I had ever seen called in a full season👀😭😂 loved his fire🔥 though 🤷🏽‍♂️🤘🏽

the difference being shamburger has actually flashed realy ability. Justin Martin looked the part. never came close to playing it.

Sham's biggest issue has been the attitude and staying in the dog house.

if he's gotten his head right, i expect good things from that kid.....

Random but I'm down to only a couple of bad episodes every 2-3 3 weeks right now, after you guys made that happen.
So you know..

That's good news. Don't get yourself into the same bad place you were before if there's a way to a more long-term solution. We're here for you.

FACT!

I was just thinking this myself man. Biggest surprise with Gray is he wasn't a 5 star IMO, and I think that's just the curse of his size and being a TN kid.

I think that’s a poor wording. In a class you take guys that obviously you think will produce right away. But also project guys that may contribute on STs immediately but not much else. I think they probably felt good about their Rbs so were taking gray bc he’s so athletic and would be an instant ST guy but now he’s here he’s outplaying other RBs. Happens more than you think.

Not sure how I feel about this Hard Knocks college thing... I mean, if they want to embrace the "hard knocks' idea of it, then I get most of the teams featured, but not Bama... that seems like an unfair advantage for them with recruiting... "Hey look how great we are even if you don't come for a visit"... you have three teams who are trying to rise up, and then the one elite program who doesn't need any help... what is so hard knocks about bama?? What, fighting 4-5* depth for every position, having endless resource$$ and anything and everything you want as a player just a request away? F them... they can "hard knock" my nutz...

only good thing would be if Lyle was on there getting coffee and doughnuts for everyone and shining players shoes and doing their laundry....

Agree. I think everyone knew he had a ton of ability but I'm not sure even the coaches thought he'd be the #2 back day 1.
