WELL Sir, that is an Exact Quote from Someone who has seen this team up close and personal on a daily basis. Phil Fulmer. I think Phil has good eyes. SMH.
Are you insinuating that our two FR OT's are not up to the task? Trey Smith finished 2nd All-SEC and freshman All American honors his first year. I am not saying we should expect the same of Morris and Wright but it is not out of the realm of possibilities. I think often times many put too much emphasis on a kids college experience vice his talent. Granted experience is a huge factor but if a kid has the right work ethic, ability to be a quick learner and the heart, the experience shouldn't matter as much. Of course, this is all barring injury. The bar isn't set high for our offense but I do expect it to be better and honestly wouldn't be surprised if they exceed most expectations. I think the O line comes into this season with a chip on their shoulder, they know they were the teams weakest unit last year. However, I have been wrong before.People are really underestimating how much we are still lacking in the OL & DL. We are likely starting two true freshmen at the OTs and just lost our best returning D-lineman for the year. Recruit. Minimize the 25 point losses. Recruit. Make a bowl. Recruit.
Funny how the post has no quotation marks and no designation as Fulmer as the source. Plagiarize much?
In any event, even Fulmer hasn’t seen this team play yet. We will have a much better idea after BYU, and a pretty solid one after Florida.

PLAGIARIZE ?? That's so damn funny. Me thinks thou doth protest too much.
Size, talent, and purpose within the scheme. They have more guys who are bigger and stronger than last year. Last year's DL was 4-3 guys plugged into a 3-4 base scheme. In spite of the handwringing, there are some very talented guys in the group. The purpose of these guys in Pruitt's scheme isn't necessarly big numbers. They need to occupy the DL and get push. It is a simplified purpose that may be done reasonably well without 5* talent.Fair enough, but I have to ask, what gives you the impression that our DL will be average?
Yeah, losing Gooden stinks. One of the worst losses they could have. But they have size, strength, and athleticism. It can be simplified for them and still be effective in keeping the LB's clean. We are replacing the entire starting line-up, our best returning player just went out for the year, and that was one area we frankly didn’t recruit as well at?
And I disagree completely. He's had a year to develop the team including a DL deeper than one guy. He also has an easier schedule than last year. A 7-5 finish would be treading water at best.I think we are a 7-5 team if we get Solomon eligible. That’s a two win improvement with a chance at a bowl win. That is where we are right now. If Pruitt gets this team to 8 wins, he should be National COTY.
I hope you’re right.Size, talent, and purpose within the scheme. They have more guys who are bigger and stronger than last year. Last year's DL was 4-3 guys plugged into a 3-4 base scheme. We shall see. If this team isn't 20 points better ; I'll kiss whatever and give you a week to advertise. If you can't see the potential; I have no words.
The problem is that for the most part nobody beats UK and Vandy like they used to. UK beat UF, USCjr, Mizzou, Miss State, Vandy and Penn State last year. Should’ve beaten aTm. That is a helluva year. WE could do that this year, with a nice bowl win versus a name program, those games are all there for the taking.
Vandy should’ve beaten Notre Dame on the road last year, gave Mizzou and UF a game and lost by a score to UK and Baylor. Not to mention beating Ole Miss and kicking our ass.
Part of the problem with the lack of depth we have is now you can’t just roll the starters out there for a half and demolish UK and Vandy and sit everyone. Every team in the conference is a tough out other than Arkansas.
Yes i am, how can James franklin come in to a 2 win vandy team and the first year win 6 then the second year win 9??? We should expect nothing less.
Keep making excuses for bad football and you will continue to see bad football. We looked embarrassing at times last year, 4 SEC wins should be easy for the amount of money that has been put into this program. Stop settling for mediocrity!!!Because the East is just as hard the west is now. That was a whole different ck then. Much much weaker than now.
Last year Mizzou, Florida and UK were able to defeat Big 10 division winning caliber teams. Candy should have beat Notre Dame.
UGA probably should be 2 time national champs, but keep wetting the bed. They're still that good though.
You don't know maths.UT has the makings of a very good OL even if they suffer similar injuries to last year. They've improved their personnel. The DL remains to be seen. They have the size and athletes. But none have significant experience.
You also have to look at the schedule. BYU isn't WVU. Auburn is better than MSU. UK and Vandy should be worse than last year. IMO, USCe will be about the same. In spite of the current hype, I think Lock was a much bigger part of Mizzou's success than many seem to believe. I think they'll have a drop off as well.
UGA and Bama are probably too much of a reach at this point. UF is only an outside chance. Everything else comes down to coaching, injuries, and how much the off-season development really improved them.
Six wins... would NOT be an improvement considering the schedule differences. Seven would be basically treading water.

"I'll have what the pilots having!"- James GregoryWith the S&C improvements, the Influx of VERY Talented Freshmen on both sides of the ball, DEPTH, Pruitt settling in for his second year; Chaney, Ansley, and Tee upgrading the Staff, I can see Tennessee being 10 points better on D and Offense. (Possibly more midway through the season) This team is night and day from last year. I think we are looking at 8-4; minimum.

Ha.You don't know logical reasoning with the application of math(s).
